Television series Jamai Raja's ongoing track is all set to be spiced up with the entry of actress Mouli Ganguly. The actress, who has an array of memorable characters in numerous shows to her credit, will entertain audiences yet again with a power-packed negative act in the show. Mouli will essay the role of Payal " a self-obsessed, shrewd, cunning and dominating woman. Her entry will bring an interesting twist and will also spruce up the changing dynamics in the relationship between Sid (Ravi Dubey), Roshni (Nia Sharma) and Neel (Indraneil Sengupta).
Talking about her role, an excited Mouli said, "When you play notorious characters, it becomes far more challenging to leave an impact on the audience's mind. That's why I took up the role. Also, as an actor, I don't want to limit myself to doing monotonous characters and that's why I take up assignments that offer me scope to challenge myself in terms of acting. It requires a lot of homework to play characters with grey shades. I have done my bit, but it will be interesting to see how people react to it." Payal's entry will take the Sengupta family by storm, especially since she has a hidden agenda in coming back. Her past with Neel will unleash some very unexpected twists and turns in the show that will keep the viewers hooked. "I wanted to do something truly different in the fiction space as an actor. So when I was approached for Payal's role in the show, I readily agreed to do it. The character is very multi-layered and complex. I love playing convoluted characters as they give me an opportunity to display a wide range of emotions. People will truly enjoy watching Payal's histrionics as she will keep everyone on their toes by plotting and scheming every now and then," adds Mouli.
