Ranbir Kapoor seems to be following his ex girlfriend Katrina Kaif's footsteps especially when it comes to venting ire on photojournalists for doing their job. On Saturday (May 7) night, freelance photographer Varinder Chawla's team tried clicking the Tamasha actor's photos while he was in his car in Bandra. An enraged Ranbir stopped his car, got out, walked straight to the lensman and demanded he hand over his mobile phone. Faced with no other option, the photographer complied and Ranbir walked off with the mobile phone.
The photographer then rang up his employer (freelance photographer Varinder Chawla) and informed him about the incident. His employer immediately called on the photographer's cell which was in Ranbir's possession. While the initial calls when unanswered, the phone was switched off soon after. The employer then dialled Ranbir's number, but to no avail. He then dropped a text on the actor's number. At around 1.30 am, Ranbir called back and spoke at length about how he hates being followed.
The employer (Varinder Chawla) tried explaining to Ranbir that the photojournalist was just doing his job and if not him someone else would definitely have clicked the photos. Ranbir, however, refused and remarked that if this continues he would consider filing a complaint with the police.
Eventually the actor was promised that he won't be followed and clicked anymore. He also asked the employer to dispatch the photojournalist to his house by 4 am to collect his phone.
Interestingly, most of the photographers end up being on the routes of actors after being tipped off about their schedule by their own publicist or some staff member. Recently, Katrina had lashed out at photojournalists for clicking her while she was on a house hunt.
Mumbai: Something seems to be off with the happy-go-lucky actor, Ranbir Kapoor lately as the actor isn't in his usual jolly self. After asking media to leave him alone, Ranbir recently lashed out a journalist for following him.
According to reports, on late Saturday (May 7) night, a photojournalist spotted Ranbir Kapoor stepping out of his Bandra house. When the photographer tried to snap few pictures, the actor stopped his car, got out and confronted him. After giving the photographer an earful, Ranbir demanded him to hand over his phone.
Taking the freelance photojournalist's phone in his possession, Ranbir drove off to have dinner with his friend Ayan Mukherji. The photographer then called up his employer and depicted the entire story.
After several phone calls, the photographer's employer got hold of Ranbir. Throughout the telephonic conversation, the actor stressed over his discomfort on being followed. Ranbir also gave out a stern warning of filing a police complaint if the photographer continues to follow him.
When the photojournalist's employer assured Ranbir that he will not be followed again, the actor asked him to send over the photojournalist to his house around 3 am to collect his mobile phone.
