Sakhi!!!", called out Madhav as he strolled in the Garden at Indraprastha.
Pandavas had recently turned a barren piece of land into their most beautiful and extraordinary kingdom of Indraprastha. Indraprastha- Symbolising seven prosperities, namely- Happiness, Justice, Wealth, Health, Peace, Wisdom and Truth had become the coveted state in whole of Aryavarta. People from near and far longed to visit it. It was covered with lush green gardens, beautiful enormous fountains... Amidst chirping of birds and flutter of butterflies, the Palace Of Indraprastha stood magnificently, surrounded by Seven Gardens.
Krishna was looking for his Sakhi, Maharani Draupadi. It had become his routine ever since his stay here, with Pandavas. These two friends would stroll in these Gardens, talking of anything and everything. But today, He couldn't find her.
" Where are you Panchali?!", he cried, famished in the sun. He had taken a whole round of the Palace and also peeked into the Gardens. But she was no where.
Tired and exhausted, Krishna sat down on a bench, in the cool shade. With soft breeze blowing, he felt relaxed. But soon, the sweet, melting, and buttery smell of Maakhan tingled his senses.
"Ah! Makkhan!", he sprang up at once. Tiredness long gone, he looked around for his delicacy.
A few steps here and there, he found little Abhimanyu hiding behind a pillar and licking his fingers immersed in a pot full of Butter.
Krishna tip toed to him from behind, and grasped his small ears and lifted him up.
" Caught you!", he turned his face to Him.
"Aaahh, Mama Shree, it's hurting!", he cried.
" Butter, huh? Priya Bhaanje!", Krishna naughtily taunted him.
Abhimanyu's eyes glistened at once. "Ummm", he noisily kicked his fingers.
" Like Mama, Like Bhanja", came Subhadra, giggling.
"Bhrata Shree, I wonder if it's you incarnated as Abhimanyu. Look at him!", she laughed.
Butter drooped from the mouth of Abhimanyu and he was trying to lick it through his tongue.
" Where's Draupadi?", Krishna asked Subhadra, after sometime.
"Badi Maa is in her Room, seems she is a little sad today", said Abhimanyu. He was a little spy, looking out for news from here and there.
Naughtiness sparkled in Madhav's eyes. Masti Time!
Even his Mor Pankha tickled on head, wanting to do some mischief.
He silently entered her Room. Panchali was sitting, with her legs folded, on the floor, with her hand dipped in the little pool at the centre of her room. She looked beautiful that way... The reflection of sun rays from the pool enlightened the room, creating rippples on the ceiling. But within this illuminated atmosphere, sat a sad Panchali.
Krishna, at once forgot his mischief. Something was different today.
He softly went and sat beside her.
Panchali still had her eyes grounded, though she knew His presence.
" Sakhi?", he asked.
"Yes Madhav", she said softly.
" You didn't come for the walk", He complained.
"I didn't feel like"
"Okay, so how about cooking something for Parth and me?"
"No, I don't feel like"
"Panchaali!! What's wrong dear?"
"I don't know Madhav, but I don't feel like doing anything."
"I think you need a change", he said after some thought.
"And I just know the right place to take you"
He winked to himself as a soft, naughty smile came on his lips.
Far Away, In Other Land
"Bhama!!!", shrieked Rukmini.
" Stop it at once, will you? Come here!"
"Ohho Didi! I...munch... Am...grumb..."
"Talk later now before you get...", said Rukmini but...
"Cough!! Cough!! Cough!!", went Satya. Yet again, she had choked her throat with those unripe mangoes.
" Look at you Bhama! Today you climbed trees for the mangoes, didn't you?", scolded Rukmini.
"I am sorry Didi, Kshama, Kshama!", screeched Bhama. " Now please let go of my ear Didi"
Rukmini couldn't help but laugh at her antics. How adorable she was!
