I am new to this forum and have seen many AT of actors but not Mahira's.This for her fans

The highest-paid actress of Pakistan, Mahira Khan, is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Rahul Dholakia's upcoming film 'Raees', starring Shahrukh Khan. Mahira is selective when it comes to choosing films and it was after rejecting quite a few Bollywood offers, that she came on board for 'Raees'. In an interview with ABP News, Mahira confessed her love for Shahrukh. A former VJ, Mahira is apparently a big fan of King Khan. She went on to reveal in the interview that it was a dream-come-true for her to star opposite SRK. Let's take a look at some facts about the Pakistani beauty:

Here's how it all began - Mahira began her career as a VJ when she was all of 16. With shows like MTV's 'Most Wanted' and 'Weekends With Mahira', she carved a niche for herself on Pakistani television. But it was with her serial 'Humsafar', that she really reached out to the hearts of Pakistanis. Her chemistry with co-star, Fawad Khan, was much appreciated. In fact, the show became so popular that it transcended borders and was telecast in India.

Indian connect - Mahira's first visit to India was at the time of the Indian launch of her serial 'Humsafar'. During her visit, she had said that India and Pakistan are similar in many ways. She also said that India felt like home to her. Mahira is apparently an ardent admirer of Alia Bhatt and is a fan of her film 'Highway'. In an interview with Zee News, Mahira shared her beauty secrets and revealed that she had never been to a gym and that she loves gorging junk food.

Married life - Mahira married Ali Askari in 2007. Apparently it was love at first sight for the actress. She had met Askari at Indus Studios during her vacations and they fell in love. Askari is currently working on creating Pakistan's first animation series for television. They have a son Azlaan.Mahira has been divorced and is single currently

Debut film - Mahira had made her silver screen debut with a supporting role in the 2011 social drama 'Bol'. In this film, she was paired with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam. 'Bol' turned out to be one of the highest-grossing films in Pakistan. It was also well received in India. Mahira has always maintained that she believes in being a part of meaningful cinema.

Most Beautiful Woman - Mahira was crowned as the Most Beautiful Woman in Pakistan in 2012. She has been the face of many magazine covers and also endorses various products in Pakistan. She is not only a beautiful actress but also a dedicated homemaker. She is extremely close to Azlaan.

Madhuri Dixit, an inspiration - An avid Madhuri Dixit fan, Mahira grew up watching Bollywood films and had decided to become an actress after watching Madhuri's performance in 'Ram Lakhan'. She once told her mother that she wanted to become like Madhuri Dixit. In an interaction with ABP News, Mahira divulged that she had tried to imitate Madhuri in many scenes of her romantic drama serial 'Humsafar'.

Mahira khan in raees

Mahira Khan's slight frame doesn't betray the burden she's carried in the past few months.

While in India for the shoot of her Bollywood debut film Raees, the actress not only had jitters working opposite megastar Shah Rukh Khan, but also faced the pressure of what people at home would think about her work. After all, actresses are particularly scrunitised for their work in India.

"I was constantly very scared during my shoot, so much so that I couldn't deliver my dialogues," she disclosed during an interview on The Reham Khan Show on Dawn News.

"The [Raees team] tried to make it easy for me. Still, I was so stressed out. But everything was all in my head," she later added.

While explaining that it's an actor's job to embody the traits of their character (even if it ruffles a few feathers at home), she went on to say that she feels very lucky to be an actor in Pakistan.

"The more clothes you wear, the more respect you're given. You don't need to do an item number for respect here," she observed.

While the actress refused to disclose anything further aboutRaees, she did offer the following as word of advice for other Bollywood-bound actors:

"Just remember that you're being asked there because they've seen your work, and it's good."

Mahira Khan's television series are a hit on India's Zindagi TV. But some people criticise her for playing too many weepy roles.

"Humsafar is a drama that's embedded in everyone's memory. After Humsafar, I got lots of offers to do similar roles, but turned them down, even though some of those scripts were really well-written. I wanted to do something different, and decided to doShehrezaat instead."

But she admits that weepy characters may have depleted her personal stock of tears.

"I don't know how to cry anymore, and I'm not sure that's a sign of strength. For Sadqay Tumhare, they were pouring glycerine into my eyes, but not a teardrop would emerge. It was only when I witnessed a grisly incident at the hospital where I was shooting, that the waterworks turned on!"

Mahira also revealed that her on-set nickname is 'Mazdoor Khan' because she doesn't mind mingling with the rest of the 'awaam' on set.

"My makeup team is constantly telling me, 'Don't sit like this', 'Don't eat with your hands'. But it's not fun otherwise!"
