Fusion festival
"Mere ghar par kar lete hain na is saal? I come to my mayka every year" Sam whined, about karwa chauth
"Arey I need to give you a break" II claimed
"says the woman who has been pregnant or nursing all of last 10 years" Sam burst out laughing🤣
"Not funny... its not my fault u know" II fumed
"Phir kiski galti hai?" Sam asked innocently😉
"I cant believe I am explaining why I have so many kids" II mumbled😳
"Chooo chweeet, I know why u have so many kids, because contraception hasnt been invented yet and you and my brother cant keep their hands to themselves" Sam mocked her again🤣
"Hmpphhh"😳 "Umm OK I am OK with karwa chauth wherever"😭 II mumbled hurt
"I am sorry loveee... I am teasing, if you had another one, I would be the happiest" Sam said softly
"I am done, he can have more if he wants" II declared🤣
"Wohi line baar baar?" Sam teased again
"Aayyyo... I cant seem to shut up and be quiet" II groaned🤬

"Sam gasped and groaned as she wrapped up, Sahana stopped nursing and cooed...
"Onnoda athai ku romba kozhuppu di" (ur bua is out of control) she squeezed sweet cheeks
Nivi was in paattu class downstairs, the boys? well she didnt know where the boys were
She was a helicopter parent, she fussed about them every minute
She was in Mumbai all of last week and called R&B 10 times pre and post school hours
He laughe dout loud "I am going to think you miss me" he muttered huskily
"Dream on" she denied
"Sahana is in my arms, Nivi and her brothers are downstairs finishing up tennis lessons" he said
"I cant believe the lil cuties want to do tennis" she sighed
"Come look, cut short ur trip" he invited
"Rakshasaney u wud love that wont u, while u get bigger and humungose-er U want me to lose my job" she cursed
He laughed
"II" he interuppted
"Arghhh!! That II, I dont know why I still fall for that" she mumbled
He exploded in laughter
She changed Sahana, she began to walk carrying her 40 lb weight, her thighs a miniature version of sumo wrestler... her tiny feet unable to support the weight
She sat back down and cried
"I know" II coed, laying on the couch
Navaratri was hectic, she had invited all of Amma's friend Mamis and their DILs, daughters and grandkids
and her work friends and the diplomats' spouses she was friends with.
Ranjan had commissioned a carpenter to construct a custom stair formation with 11 steps... over the years, she increased from 5 to 7 to 9 to now 11
There was enough artifacts and curios in the house to fit three 11 step formations, but Amma's trip down south and hers occasionally she had enough religious figurines
The boys "helped" set up a theme for their arrangement on the floor
a cricket match, a baseball match, or football, or Star Wars, or Pokemon or Transformers or Legos
Nivi sang a shabad every evening at the shrine, and the boys did their best to distract her.
R&B's legos all got displayed
He had bar coded them? OMG!! He knew how many they were and where they got displayed
He wore kurta pajama, and was mostly in town the weekend
The kids and parents were all invited
Sitaraman had retired so he would offer up services of his assistant
The food was a full Iyer meal
Akka came early, to help her with arrangements, Sam and her curled up on the couch and took naps and gossiped about II
Light heartedly... ofcourse about how hassled she appeared and how much she cared about everyone
Sahana couldnt decide who she liked more Athai or Periamma
But only until R&B passed by the 1st floor lounge.. she would growl and whine and want to be picked up by him
Shubhang had a head full of hair, matte, and glossy at the same time... he would hang with her in the kitchen
"Chithi... will u go to my band practice on Friday?" he would ask
Exact opposite of Shravu, he was quiet and shy
He tried to hold Sahana, she had smacked him, the bully she was...
"Chithi romba heavy aa orukka" (she is quite heavy) he mumbled
"I know kanna... this one is a wrestler" II chuckled "Set her down, she will eat the crumbs off the floor" II laughed
He would set her down and watch her go on her knees and crawl as fast as she can to the patio door so she could chase squirrels
Stare at pigeons that fed at the bird feed
"She likes pigeons?" baldie asked in awe
"I love pigeons, must be genetic" II smiled shyly, staring at Sahana watch them carefully
"Chithi, how does she sit quietly on a plane when u go see chithappa?"
"They dont kanna, the boys dont either raja... its a challenge" II made a face
"Boys are so naughty, I dont know why they always want to play cops and robbers" he said condescendingly
"Because they can shoot stuff and punch people" II said knowingly
"How is Shravu, do u chat with him?"
Shravu was almost done with college, he was not sure if he wanted to do Masters
But Akka was adamant, Bala wasnt
Nandu was in Vanderbilt... he visited during summer, II wondered if R&B looked like that
Tall skinny and charming
Shravu was stocky and well built
"Nandu na, plays tennis for Vanderbilt, he said he won the game last Sat" Shubhang said with awe
"U are learning no... u will be the best" II encouraged
"Chithi can I coach the boys over the weekend?" he aske hesitantly
"Ofcourse kanna, coach chithappa too" she said kindly
R&B played mean tennis... but she didnt say that to the 15 year old...
"Chithappa always nods and smiles , he never says much" Shubhang exclaimed
"U are quiet too, u shud know" II smiled
"Ongaloda pesuvara?" (does he talk with u?) he asked
II laughed... "No... u shud tell him I complained" II's eyes glinted with mischief
Baldie nodded faithfully
Baldie was especially close to II through her own3 pregnanies and 4 kids... he always trailed her when he visited
He even chose to sleep over though there were no boys his age
II took him to movies and bought him dinner and hung out late playing scrabble, R&B cared for their troops
The twins secretly peeked into the room where II and baldie hung out, wrapping themselves inside curtains, and gigling, hoping to unravel some spy secret
Shubhang chuckled at their antics
R&B walked by to grab them
"Daddeee Amma is talking a secret with Shubhang anna, she wont tell us" they would whine, flailing their arms and legs
"Yes, thats for 15 years olds"
"Dadeee I want to be 15" they would squeal
"I want to play scrabble too" they would shout
She would take a break from her nephew and go kiss them good night
They many nights would sleep in Ranjan's room, their heads in opp direction, so tired, they would rotate on the bed like hands on a clock
Ranjan would pull out his sofa bed and sleep on it
She would kiss them deeply, and soothe their hair
"Dont be jealous cuties, I love shubhang" she would whisper
They would exhale audibly on hearing her voice, as the snore would deepen
"I cant love anyone more than I love all of u kids Nandu, Shravu, Shubhang,
u two monsters, Nivi and sweet cheeks... ayyo I forgot Lasya" "Madam drama queen" she would giggle
"So jaayin beta, main doosre kamrech chala" he would walk in and coax her
"No Dad, they were too jealous of me and shubhang so I came to kiss them good night" she would explain
"Ma ko miss nahi karenge? ay ki gall hui?" he would agree with his monsters
"Saara din kya aafat karte hain, ab dekhiye" she would smile
R&B would wander down... after putting the fatso down to bed
"Inne shaitan to ay vi nahi tha" Ranjan would be startled
II would laugh, kissing them again
"Come up?" R&B would invite his wife
"No da, I am going to spend a couple hours with baldie" she would smile
He wouldnt be thrilled but nod
It was a changed house now, the only time it was quiet and still was between 9 PM and 5 AM
Rest of the times it looked and sounded like a zoo
"The house feels like how it was when I first came" II chuckled
Ranjan yawned and nodded... "Inni shaanti da kisi nu koi fayda nahi" (what use was so much peace and quiet)
They leaned on each other in the 2nd floor hallway after they shut Ranjan's door and shut the
lights out andw ent up so she could nurse Sahana one last time
He felt his wife's lips with his thumb
"He said Nandu won a tennis game" she whispered
He nodded
And kissed her fully...
"Sam wants to hold karwa chauth at her place"
He continued kissing and fondling... she arched on the wall, stretching
"Tomm night?" he asked
She shook her head
"Tomm hota, I would have to wake at 5 and eat" she snuggled letting him undo her hook,
"Shave panniko da" she begged as he rubbed his cheek and jaw on her mounds
"Shudnt u be tired of saying that by now?" 😆he whispered on her curves
"U wud think" she cackled cynically😳
"dont fast" he ordered gruffly
"I will" she said blatantly defying his order❤️
