Sam brought II's thali to the kitchen
"Whats for lunch?" he asked
"Aaja lamb biryani hai, aur dher saara veg, I have to dangle food nahi to teri biwi nahi aati ghar" Sam complained
"Thats not true, and I can eat outside with u guys" she suggested to Sam
"Arey, who will talk with him?" Sam asked
"Ummm"
R&B looked at her warningly "Not in front of Sam, dont begin a fight now"
"Hes in Geneva, he must be busy" Ii lied
"AREY its the apartment" Sam placed hands on her hips and looked at II strangely
"Oh sorry I didnt notice" II lied
"WOH BOOK SHELF HAI PEECHHE" Sam looked at II confused
"You better leave now Sam,
because my wife wont give you straight answers, she is lying because she always does that when she wants to pitch a fight" R&B thought
"Itne saare books woh 4 din mein Geneva mein kaise lega?" Sam looked more confused
"Umm... ya... I didnt think of that" II nodded "innocently"
"Sam?" R&B hissed
"KYA?" she looked at her brother
"Leave" he said
Sam burst out laughing "OMG!! U just kicked me out of my own kitchen?" she lingered
"I did" he said calmly
"I am" II began
GOING TO TO GO OUTSIDE AND EAT WITH THE REST
"II" R&B warned
"Achha baba baat karo dono, kabab mein haddi?" Sam laughed letting herself out
II ate quietly
"When is your next appointment?" he asked
"Kyon?" she asked
The help wandered back in to make fresh rotis
"Go up to the rec room" he ordered agonized
She stared at his face... "I dont know their various system passwords and such" she mumbled
"I am texting Tan" he said
Ii was mortified...

Tan came in a second later... totally serious
"Chal kiddo, I enabled skype upstairs" he nodded
"PHEW!!! NO MOCKERY NO MAZAAK

II picked up her plate,
"Narender" he called out a help "Plate le lo" he ordered
"Ayyo no, I can walk and take my plate"
"Arey tera miya waha se goli maar dega" Tan pretended to be afraid
II went up and shut the door
R&B was already in the room
She ate quietly
"Did u eat?" she asked, suddenly feeling terrible, eating all this good food when he just sat there
"At the airport" he said
"Why couldnt u wait until u got home?" she demanded
"I was hungry, II" he supplied
"U knew I was home" he informed, busting her
II stirred her chholey aimlessly, heat rising up her cheeks
"So?" she challenged
"Truce" he ordered
"Why?"
"Beacuse I say so" he said bluntly
"So I can do whatever I want for Kanjak, and we will pretend like that fight never happened?" she asked
"Eat up" he grit his teeth
She refused more roti, more juice more anything else... and washed up
"Did u talk with Bally about time off?" he asked
"Dekha maine HR Resources" she said
He nodded
"3 months paid, another UPTO three without pay" she said
He tried to appear concerned about the "without pay" part
"My Relationship Manager at the Bank says I am on the right track, so I might just be able to dig myself out of the hole by the time I go on maternity" she said
"I missed the meeting" he looked apologetic
I WOULDNT WANT YOU TO BE IN IT WHEN SHE WAS GOING OVER EVERY GORY DETAIL
OF HOW UNCONTROLLABLE I AM WITH SPENDING
"Do u want to take a year off"(after the baby?)
"and move to Paris?" she asked humorlessly
He grit his teeth and exhaled... "u cud do that, yes" he said
"See how hard it is to follow a truce?" she mocked him
they were both silent...
She leaned on the couch and yawned
"Why are u wearing shoes inside the house?" she asked
He chuckled...
"I can only take 6 months max, abhi kuch nahi kiya job ka to baad mein karna padega" she told him
"so u didnt apply to that position on your team?" he asked
"No..." she pouted
"why?"
"Usi team mein wohi karte hue, ek Manager title ke liye itna heart burn? I dont want that da" she complained
"You are unhappy(at your job)" he said bluntly
"Thanks, I had forgotten it for a second there" she looked hurt
"II" he begged
"Doctor asked me if I had a name picked out" she said
He half smiled, sitting up, deeply engrossed...
"I talked so much, to shut me up she asked that question I thought because after she asked I couldnt speak for a few minutes"
"I am disappointed the Doc didnt speak much" he mocked gently(her previous claim the Doc spoke)
"Hee haw" she mocked him back
"Since its a boy I am going to look for a boy name" she said flippantly
"I pick, Maanvi, we will call her Nivi"(for a his angelic firstborn) he said with a contented smile.
The certainty in his tone, unnerving her a bit...
