School jail & "Authentic"
Well... I blame YOU guys... you love the foochar ones so much here is another one
Someone asked for R&B and Nivi conversation
He tossed and turned unable to sleep, woke up startled thinking he was hearing a baby cry and boys fightin
"Sigh" he sat up, he was in his Paris bed, he looked out, it wasnt even 5 AM yet.. he kicked his blanket off and let his leg trace the spot where II would be
"Poda!! its not even 5 AM... geez... toonga vidu da" she would whine
He would pull her closer and let his hands do the talking, after much coaxing, he would get laid...
Sahana slept by them in a crib they bought 9 years ago when Nivi was just born, the twins in the office and Nivi and Dad in the living room
Or the twin would switch place with Nivi if he wanted to be by thatha
"Sigh" he groaned loudly, school was open, there was no way II would send even one kid with him, he begged for her to send Sahana, but she had laughed hysterically
"HOW WILL U NURSE HER?" she demanded
"Umm... ya... I guess... hey pump and give me a dozen bottles"
"enna velayadreya?" she cuddled with him and the fat lumpy thing
"Nursing is just your excuse to keep the babies to urself" he sulked
"Umm... maybe" "But anyway..." she changed the topic, guilty of the crime
The house was quiet, it rained outside, gentle and freezing like it was afraid to wake the sleeping Paris
He turned to his phone, there were pictures from the boys even after he had slept
They were beating him in the game of "I can stay up later than you"
He wondered how II managed to make them sleep
She disciplined them more, but by night she was usually drained and weary... she worked like a machine all day long, not resting for a minute
There was pictures of eyeballs, hair, back of the head, belly button faces, elbow creature, funny faces...
one wore a green lizard motif jammie the other wore a red robot one
Nivi sat in the back with her long silky hair open waiting for "bedtime braid" in a pink shorts and a shimmering tee she was always hot
Delhi must be cold but she was never bundled up
The boys had hair like him, silky curls, unruly all over the face, from the back there was no way to tell
There was even videos...
"Dey WHAT IS GOING ON? Did u do ur reading home work?" II was heard screaming
"amma he skipped from page 3 to 8" one tattled on the other
"I am going to ask questions as usual, and who ever hasnt read, goes to the fenced jail behind the school"
The boys turned mesmerized
Nivi was shooting the video with a chuckle
"How do u know have they sent u to the same jail?" one asked
"Poda!!" "I helped them build it" II THE FIBBER confidently lied
"WRONGGG AMMMA... U are a computer engineer" "U are not a construction worker" one yelled
"NOOO... Amma is a Accountant... she COUNTS money" the other one said smugly
"I am on page 4 now, tell me what did Cat in the Hat say to the boy?" she quizzed the one that skipped pages
"Amma... I DONT WANT TO DO IT"
They all cuddled on the 1st floor lounge... Ranjan read a book in the far corner.. adjusting his glasses ever few seconds
R&B wondered if he needed new glasses
"Thatha is READING SHHH" II warned
"Koi nai puttarjee... kitaab kya padhoonga... main aidar vaitha inki gallan... maje le raha hoon betaji" he smiled warmly
"Dad, will u get the boys ready please? I will braid her hair and pack her field trip bag?" she begged
"Arey ay ki gall poochi.. aaja mere bache" he opened his arms as the boys flew
Sahana rolled on to her belly and reached for the Cat in the Hat book
"Dad HER TOO?" II smiled sheepishly
Ranjan smiled generously "La mainnu pakdaa gudiya"
"Main gudiya ya yeh gudiya?" II challenged
"DONO JEE DONO" Ranjan reassured
II picked up the FAT ball of drooping flesh "Paathukko di, Thatha's FIRST gudiya is ME" II sank her lips into the cheek folds
Sahana cooed and drooled... and grabbed II's nose ring with wet hands
"Appa ku ponnu naa daan nu enna di eppo paar mukuthi?" (like dad like daughter why do u need my nose ring all the time?)
She handed the wet slobbery mess to Ranjan just as the two boys climbed over him warring with each other
"Nee va kanna" II gathered Nivi and kissed her head
The video ended...
His phone rang...
He answered immediately
"Hey" he said
"Daddy this is NIVI" she said softly
He smiled
"Hey love" he whispered
There was chaos in the back... shower sounds, bath things falling the baby yelling in her play pen
"Are the boys in the shower?" he asked longingly
"Umm... ya, like everyday... they will be late even today" Nivi chuckled secretly
"Are u ready?" he asked softly
"I have a field trip to RoboticKids Camp Daddeee" she said
"Thats GREAT" he smiled it was a IIT Roorkee alumnus initiative he had read about frequently
"where is it?" he asked curiously
"NOIDA?" the lil girl spoke softly
"So Amma packed u a bunch of snack?" he chuckled
"A LOTTT" the girl laughed embarrassed "She says "U will be hungry kanna"
"She is right" he said his thoughts wandering fondly to his Iyer warrior
"Are u awake so soon?" Nivi asked perceptively
"I thought u guys were here" he chuckled
"We have school" Nivi said innocently
"I think there should be a traveling school and u shud be able to go wherever u want" he said softly
"That would be nice Dadddee, except how will we make friends" Nivi said logically
"Ouch! u are right" he nodded
"Did u go to paattu class?" he asked
"I went to shabad" she said softly
"That means a No?" he asked
"I had to finish reading the book" she said sadly
She was a voracious reader, the Zambian diplomat was now a younger lady, she had a daughter 11 years old, that was close to Nivi, the guard intercommed most evening
Masuzyo was the name, they called her "Macy" the guard Hari Prakash addressed her as "MAUSI"
Years ago...
"Bhabhiji mausi ke ghar se phone aaya" thats how he said it the first time
II IS a mausi, she didnt know WHICH mausi was here, and WHY she called the guards...then later learned it was the lil 4 year old that wanted to visit
"How is Macy?" he asked
"Umm well... she said we can do bead bags but she never called" Nivi said sadly
"Oh! no... u should ask Amma to buy u a box of beads from the Saket Mall" he informed
"No dadddee those are authentic Zambian beads with natural dye" Nivi said proudly
He smiled his 9 year old used words like "authentic"
"NIVIII pick up the baby kanna" II screamed
Sahan wailed now
"Dadddeee are u coming back tomorrow?" Nivi asked
"I will try" he groaned
She was closer he could tell the boys were fighting he heard wet smacks as they kicked each other
"Amma he poured shampoo FIRST" one screamed
"WHO are u talking with?" Ii asked
"Daddeee" Nivi said
Ii grabbed the phone and said "VAAA DAA please I am doing YOUR job, its been over 14 days" "they are monsters" she hugged the boys tightly
Getting kids ready was R&B's job, they troubled him MUCH less😆
"U counted?" he chuckled huskily
"I COUNT THE HOURS" she declared passionately
"I do too" he said groaning
