JUST when I was slipping intoa world of shame and ignominy over not being a hiker, you remind me of the MANY times Ive hiked up Tirumalai to get to the shrine, when I was a teenager and later.
It wasnt half as fashionable or hip to climb the Lord's abode we did it without a clue, we didnt even carry water in fancy $100 REI bottles, we drank water in open buckets with steel tumblers sold by kids.

And I live to talk about it

I challenge posh hikers to share such stories😆

I returned with one of my coworkers, he satin the seat behind me and joked about something I laughed out loud, a young girl sat by the window, she took her ear plugs off and asked me what was so amusing (that will come later) Itold her what it was

SHE WAS REALLY CUTE. With flawless skin and dimples and BIG eye glasses, she told me she was coming to my town to "speak at a local college career fair" she said she graduated in May and worked for the Seattle school district, since the teachers are on strike now she took a couple days off and took up a speaking assignment

I was reminded of Nivi... energetic charming and sweet

I told her how hot hot Phoenix was, she said she had just returned from a vacation to  Cancun... and she told me SHE LOVES WRITING POETRY in her free time

I almost couldnt say anything for a few minutes afterwards

Nisha the treks in India come with a different essence all together. And the ones that you do for temples are even more different. Yes even we used to walk up to Tirumala during times when there was not this much facility. Now it is way more luxurious to walk up. 😊

But don't worry yourself too much about not being a hiker. Everyone starts as a novice and there is never a time when you know it all. The deal about treks is not how fast you reach the top. It is about how you experienced it, what you saw. The birds, flora and fauna and such.

And I totally agree about the brags that we have in this world today! Totally.
