The Rakhi would have been sent by Ranjan's sisters.. Before Dude's marriage, it would had been Sam or Manya tied on behalf of his sister.. Since he treats II has his daughter asked her to tie the Rakhi this time.. It is not like he is going to protect her as brother... He is already a dad for her..

My niece ties the Rakhi to my bro which is sent by me..
For brothers, daughters n sisters are same..

Most of us south Indians won't celebrate Rakhi.. So most of us are clueless. It is not in our custom also.. But I don't know when n why I started tieing Rakhi to my bro.. Anyone can tie other than wife... Edited by putti77 - 8 years ago
