each manu last for 71 mahayugs.362000000 some thig years total.
presently we are in 7th.

but how was it started and why.

dee this present mahayug was divided to four yugas.
then fourth is kaliyug then would be mass destruction.then 40 ,more mahayugs.
and present manu will die and will indra and sapta rishis.

then another manu starts then he recreate everything then new indra and new saptarishis.

then all the stories we know of Vishnu 10 forms marchya,kurma,varaha were only I heard related to previous manus.

all others are in present manu.

what happened in all those manus.
and of them varaha is also related to present manu.
and last detail known present manu is son of surya bhagawan
next manu is also his son but brother of sani from chaaya.

dee its all in wiki I just confused myself digging back.

previously was simple but now confused to hell.

I started searching from airavat went to garud then back to airavat then to prithu then to manu now down confused too much data unknown to me and never even heard.
none told me.not even Sanskrit teacher.
