After a lot of persuasion he had agreed to take me to point 1857. The famous point 1857 which I had heard about from my brother so many times. When I did ask him he looked hesitant and nervous as if there was this big thing over there. I was more intrigued and wanted to visit it even more.
It was set then and we were to meet at 1900 hours and I was excited. I didn't know what the real reason for the excitement was. Was it because I was going to the famous place or because I was going with him? What was happening to me I didn't know, but what I knew was that I couldn't wait for the time to come.
Finally the hour struck to 1900 and it was time. I had to look my best for this as it was one of the conditions he had put. Okay he didn't exactly say that but he said I'd have to wear something new and different. But I wanted to dress my best, perhaps because deep down I wanted to impress him.
As I arrived outside I found him standing and waiting. I took cautionary and hesitant steps towards him and as the noises of my anklets alerted him he slowly turned towards me and I saw amazement in his eyes.

I knew he was blown away by my new appearance as he was just not prepared to look away. I told him:
"Sir, shall we go? Aap ne kaha tha ke kuch alag andaaz me jaana hai to here I am." I smiled at him and felt like laughing at his state as he remained awestruck.

He did try to make excuses to get out of it and pretended he had forgotten but I knew he was waiting for the moment just as much as I was. His body language clearly represented it.
He showed the way, seeing that now he had no choice and I was not going to change my mind. Although he tried many times to discourage me but I was not going to buy it and that's what I did and continued my journey with him to the top.

He asked me: "Cadet Singh kya tum jaantee ho yeh point 1857 kyu hai?"
I began thinking that why is he asking me a historical question at such a romantic time. I fretted about it that someone needed to teach him how to behave with a girl on a date. Wait a minute! I halted and thought over that and yes it was a date. I'd invited him to go out with me and both of us had gone so it was a date. Wow! I finally managed to go on a date with him for a change where we were all alone. But seriously I thought he needed a lot of advice, but then again at that moment he was my mentor and I his protge so I guess romance was the last thing on his mind. I finally answered him:
"Sir possibly it was named after a war of that year"
Then I got a surprise as he answered: "There is nothing historical about this place."
I stopped again to think that I was wrong. I was wrong to think that he wasn't thinking the way I was.
He said: "Yeh jaga on saare couples ke naam hai jitne yaha aaye hai."
I kept staring at him as I didn't know what to expect next. The place was looking more appealing to me now and I couldn't wait to see for myself. So there was nothing historic about it, which only meant that the air was going to be full of romance.
Finally we reached the top and the sight was the most beautiful lest and serene. I had not seen such a sight.

The place was surrounded with white flags and a cold light breeze kept blowing against us. As he narrated the story, I couldn't help but stare at him as that night he looked more attractive than ever.
Perhaps because my love had begun to develop more than before or it was just simply the influence of the place. I didn't know but all I knew was that I was enjoying his company.
Then we walked further and he showed me a wishing well where all the couples had wished. I saw him kneel down on his knees with his hands folded in a prayer.
He looked so adorable that I couldn't do anything but stare at him and his innocent acts. There was still so much left for me to learn about him.

When he saw I was still standing he gestured for me to join him in the act. I did follow suite but my eyes only rested on him. He sat there with his eyes closed and hands folded.

He really believed in this and that made me believe that yes I truly was in love with him now. Yes I was in love with him. I didn't realize how long I was starring at him but when he opened his eyes and looked at me, that's when I realized what I was doing and quickly turned away and closed my eyes pretending to have been praying all this time.

Even with my eyes closed I felt his gaze was only on me. I could see with the eyes of my heart that he was staring at me. The same way I had been staring at him but his gaze was much softer and much fuller of love. I knew it. I could feel it.

I still didn't have the courage to open my eyes and stare at him as I didn't want the moment to end. Didn't want him to stop staring at me. It made me feel elated. The wind kept blowing my hair all over the place. I still didn't open my eyes as I could feel him coming towards me. I could feel his essence coming closer and my heart was racing. It pumped so hard as if it would jump out of my chest any moment. I wondered what he would do and my anxiety arose by the minute.
Finally I felt him halt and he stood very close to me. He was behind and I couldn't wait but to open my eyes and see what exactly he was going to do. Was he going to hug me? Was he going to pick me up? I didn't know but whatever it would be, I was ready. Then the moment of surprise arrived, when I felt him wrap something around me.
That's when I opened my eyes and starred up at him and both our eyes met. We remained in that position for some time and I felt awed by his humanity as he was only thinking about my dignity. He was returning back my duppatta. But whatever it was I was glad it happened as that brought us close.
Then he grabbed my hand and took me with him in the centre. The place was so beautiful that my heart didn't want to leave. It was as if he read my mind because he said:
"Me jaanta hu Naina tumhaara yahase jaane ka mann nahi karaha hoga." He kept looking at me with so much love in his eyes that I didn't feel like I needed anything else.
"Isiliye me hum dono ko hamesha in hawaayon me qaid kardena chahta hu."
I wondered what he meant and then he answered. He told me to listen and after a few seconds he opened his mouth to yell out my name. "NAINA!"
I listened with awe as I heard my name echo in the valleys and my name didn't appear more beautiful than before.
Then he gestured to me to do the same and with excitement I yelled out his name. "RAJVEER!"
And it echoed all over. We continued calling out each other's names when eventually we tired out but our names continued to ring back in our ears.
The content smile on his face told me everything he was thinking and I knew perfectly that from this day we were going to begin a new life and journey. I wanted to shout out to the world that Rajveer was mine, only mine.
