Indians have a hugely colonised mind. till date we have not been able to rid ourselves of our slavish mentality. we are always looking for someone or something to blindly follow without reason. we cant fight for our rights... we take atyachaar like it was meant to be , kya karen yeh to hona hi tha... if we look at our history someone or the other has always ruled over us. our mannerism, our behavioural patterns our way of reacting to things is therefore very slavish. we can think freely. I dont know how many more generations it will take. i am reminded of rabindrnath tagores poem which I absolutely adore ..
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake.
I used to wonder whether it comes from the way we were brought up.????...simple things in our home is the same illa ----- Listen to your parents without questioning them...I agree that they think well for you...but it could be a well wishing suggestion instead of pushing decisions on u illa...instead it is mostly like they living ur life...
