All safe and sound

My mom is ranting that I am lying...She says I sit on this tuta phuta cot and it keeps shaking thats why I feel its a quake while she didnt as she was standing

What logic is this now

"Whats going on?" R&B asked baffled

"Dad?" Manny urged her father angrily

Manny had enough hate and enough love for all three put together

"Do u have plans to travel?" Ranjan asked bluntly

"Where?" R&B responded gettuing over his shock of his father speaking directly to him

"agle hafte?" Ranjan said succintly

"Umm... no" he continued to look confused

II walked in.. "Do u want Sam Adams?" she asked

They all turned to look at her...
II saw the liqor glass in his hand "U got somethin already?" she nodded part scared part preoccupied... when the room went still all of a sudden

"How are u betaji?" Ghar ki yaad aa gayi?" Ranjan asked breaking into a smile

"I only went away for one night" II smiled

"Umm.. well.. without permission" Ranjan waved a finger

"Appa took me to a party"

"Yeh bhi gaya?" he asked

II shook her head, lowering her gaze

"He returned only this morning" Manny sprang to her brother's defense

"Hota to kaun sa chala jaata" Ranjan slammed his son

"I am making kamal kakri and bharwa tinda aap khaayenge?" Ii asked

"Aaj bus veg, yes yes puttar"

"Oh hello... Daddy u said we could eat biryani" Manny argued "Sorry Ishita he already promised to eat with me"

"I am just teasing"

"Did u need anything more? hes making chicken Biryani, Lucknow style" II looked at R&B

He shook his head...
"I am promising to my new daughter" Ranjan said smiling

"U shud eat everything" II informed him before she got torn to shreds

"Ishita Dad usually loves bite size pakoras or spicy roasted nuts" Manny said

Vik returned after taking a call

"I can arrange for it" II smiled

He raised his glass "I am good" it meant

As an afterthought he got up and followed her, she got stuff out of the frig for pakoras

"I didnt know u guys were talking about work" II said sheepishly

He gently pulled the Rs.100 out and handed it to her "ur gift"

She found two bills folded up

"Tumhe nahi chahiye?" she asked seeing two

leaning on the door, facing him, as they stood an inch from each other

"Did Appa?" she began... "appa ne kuch kaha?" she asked

"why cant u let her stay" he said

Ii blushed

"what did u say?"

"I didnt say anything" he half smiled

"Ofcourse" she smiled back... fully

"Aaj poker hai?" she asked trying to conceal her disappointment

"mostly here" he said delighting in the sliver of despair that was display

"Hmm" she nodded.. bending down over the cauliflower, and a bunch of coriander

"Dimpal" Manny yelled

"she makes u sound like a snotty, diaper clad 3 year old" II giggled softly

"Ouch!" he said

"Far cry from the unshaven, hippie haired, angel investor" she whispered

"Appa calls u a baby (he meat "kozhandai")" he argued watching with hunger as she moistened her lips

She shrugged smugly

"He thinks of u as a Lasya" he said

"While you?..." she asked pointedly

"Imagine a stern accountant/slash nose ring wearing smoking hot Iyer warrior in a kanjeevaram"

"dimpal" Manny yelled

He stared intensely... breaking off a stalk of coriander, tucking it into the open vee of her kurta before walking away

"can u please tell him I signed papers giving u decision making authority?" Manny shrieked

"Quit yelling" R&B muttered

"On the one hand u all want me to go public, but on the other hand there is not an iota of interest in what I do" Ranjan shouted

"Dad I am gone until Thursday"

"Why did u come here if u were not going to be here for the meeting?"

"Does Sam sit through the boredom every year? Why are u yelling at me?" Manny shot back

"Do bache hain uske" Ranjan said accidentally

"To meri galti hai mere nahi hain?' Manny argued, beginning to cry

"I hought u knew she wasnt in town next week" R&B asked baffled

"I knew, I am convincing her to go the week after" Ranjan said dismissively

Vik stood up squirming... "Hey Man, I will see u in 20 mins, ek email bhejkar aata hoon"

Manny watched her lover/pastime abandon her...

"Its not your fault betaji, she cant sit through 12 hours of meetings AGM week becoz she has a family"

"How do u deal with it?'

"Tan ko de deti hai power of Attorney" Ranjan supplied

"Can I give him POA?" Manny asked

"Bachi ho kya? she is married to him" Ranjan shouted

"WHO can I give it to I dont have a husband"

"I want u to ATTEND" ranjan argued

"HE IS" she pointed to R&B

"Isko hai koi fiqar jo tujhe roz shaam ko synopsis dega?" Ranjan shot back

R&B was beginning to be pissed off, he was postponing Argent deliverables to handle messes at Excelsior and now Ranjan was throwing him under the bus

"I part own a company" R&B muttered through gritted teeth

"Aapki company NA bhi ho... aapse ummeed koyi kyon karega?" Ranjan said bitterly

"I have made plans TWO WEEKS AGO, aap tamasha kar rahe ho" Manny accused him

"Theek hai phir main chache ko de deta hoon share karo jo mann mein aaye" Ranjan threatened

Sam & Tan walked in with Lasya, Sam could sense the mood within seconds😭

Sofia was on the front porch talking to her parents...

Lasya leaped like she possessed super powers, flying off her Ma's arms to Uncle R's😆

she gave him a fat toothy smile

"Peanut" he whispered, as she giggled uncontrollably😳

she wore a white halter neck dress with a polka dotted under wear and poka dotted sandals, like SERIOUSLY! she had to be on some runway?
Her hippie like hair tied in a French chignon on top held down with bejeweled pins that bore the same colors☢️

The spaghetti straps sitting snugly on her fat shoulders

"Tan tujhe chahiye share?" Ranjan asked angrily😡

"jee?" Tan looked confused😕

And then Tan's parents followed...
