Tanu Weds Manu Returns opened very well in North while other circuits were good to decent. The reports of the film are strong in North India due to the regional flavour and remains to be seen how the rest of India performs over the next few days. If Mumbai and Gujarat pick up well the film could emerge a big hit.

Bombay Velvet is amongst the biggest disasters ever. the film grossed 22 crore nett in week one. The film will gross slghtly more than Ranbir Kapoor's first film Saawariya puts into perspective how bad the film is. Saawariya grossed 21 crore nett in 2007 and Bombay Velvet will do 2 crore more. DISASTER.

Piku had a very strong second week grossing 22 crore nett and is set for business of around 80 crore nett and will cross films like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Gunday from last year. HIT

Gabbar Is Back will finish with lifetime business of 85 crore nett, the competition every week has held the films back slightly otherwise it could have gone to 90 crore nett. Still its the biggest grosser of the year till date. SEMI HIT

So the distributors are gonna get 11-12 cr. (approx.) from overseas.

Domestic 40 + Overseas 12 = 52 cr.

YRF's profit 20 cr.

If the profit was 30-40 cr. I guess, BOI would have given it a superhit tag.

Domestic should be more than 40. The landing cost was 32cr. If it collects 80cr ,the domestic profit is 80-32 = 48cr.

YRF is not gonna take the 80 cr. they earned. The exhibitors are gonna take half of that sum. So YRF is taking home 40 cr. from the domestic collections.

And that 30cr. overseas is gross, not nett. If we make it nett. and halve it (as the exhibitors are taking half of it) we get around 12 cr. (approx.) That's YRF is getting from overseas.

Dunno who is taking satellite and music rights. If the producers are taking that then YRF won't get anything from there.

So, YRF's total earning from Piku is 52 cr.

Landing cost 32 cr.

Profit 20 cr.
