She had worked through the weekend, Bally was "OK"
with her going in late on Tuesday April 21st... "late" for her was 11 ish, up at 8 out of the house around 10
She made idlis for breakfast and took some for him, Ranjan left at 8 he was happy to see his daughter in law find that enthusiasm that was distinctly missing the last couple days
No carom game was helping, she went to D II and yet did not have her mojo back, Sunday she did a two hour paattu class and came home and sang for an hour hour and a half
"did u like the food" she asked as he ate quietly... gently pushing away mustard seeds from the coconut chutney heaping them on to the side..
"Nothing to talk about" he muttered
"Idli doon tumhe?" she asked eagerly
He nodded half heartedly... he enjoyed toast or omelette and bacon... usually idlis were not his first choice
"Did u go to your class?" he asked
She nodded obediently
"are u finally done with that kriti?" he asked stretching, she sat by him now, as he stretched his looong legs under the coffee table in his office...
showered and shaved, he looked ready to head out...
"Kahin ja rahe ho?" she asked
"Umm ya... he wanted me to go meet with some guy in Bihar Bhawan, around the corner"
"Did u not like the trip?" she asked gently
He looked at her softly... he didnt know where to begin or what to narrate... "Umm... it was OK I guess"
"U couldnt get it done?" are the property dealers there as slimy as here?" she asked curiously
He wanted to say "You have no idea"
"Athim was saying the guy his cousin Rajesh Anna bought the NOIDA flat from 15 years ago, he killed his own brother or something, they are a violent lot" Ii spoke in awe and fear
"Did u stay the night at D II?" he asked quickly chaging topics...
"Mmm... mmm I brought the boys here and we played Mario for 2 hours, made chocolate cake, went to the nursery in Sujan Singh Park and bought a dozen veggie plants, we havent planted them, Dad said we dont have the right soil, he didnt grow anything the last couple years?"
R&B met her gaze and quickly shifted it out the window...
"We have a plant race, we will see whose grows the fastest, I secretly bought Nandu a better tomato plant, and bought Shravu a better strawberry plant, and gifted MYSELF a better baingan and shimla mirch plant" she giggled
"You are pitting them against each other?" he asked dryly
"Ummm somewhat like that" she nodded
He handed her his plate... and leaned... "Have you changed your mind at all about babies?" he asked on her lips stroking her lower lip with a spicy tongue
She felt his smooth cheek with hers... "I love Sam's and Akka's" she whispered
"We wouldnt have to fight over Lasya u know" he gently tempted her...
His scent was heady, his words drugging... she moaned willingly in his arms... he gently gathered her in the safe cacoon of his arms, and leaned back
"She rolls over now" she said... proud "She wore a pink polka dotted frock it had a shorts like thing attached underneath, when she rolled over you could see her fat butt" she is SSSOOO CUTE" II nodded,
I put a bunch of your things on the bed and watched her roll over and tried to make her scoot to grab it" she said "Sam said I could have her whenever I wanted, after spending Saturday with her I think she is more than half way into becoming mine" she said
She leaned and inhaled his cheek...
"I didnt know how to do the alarm, Dad did it gave it 100 seconds to deploy and let himself out" she held him tight
"why didnt you sleep downstairs?" he asked
"None of ur business" she said her eyes closed
"I have heard about Nalanda Bodhgaya and Vaishali... did u go anywhere?" she asked
"Nope" he said coldly
She moved off his chest and leaned on the couch by him... "Are you worried Dad is upset you didnt ask Samar to return?" she asked
"I am not" he said flatly
"I have a 11 O Clock at work" she said...
"Can u come home early?" he asked with a half smile
"Only if u promise to help me plant some of the stuff I got" she warned

Around 5ish she got a text from Athim that Akka was admitted in Max Saket with a high blood pressure... the Docs were suspecting preclampsia...she dropped her
coffee mug in panic splattering the liquid all over her ugly carpet in the cube... she paced her cube in sheer panic
She texted him "akka is in the hospital"
He called her immediately... "whats going on II?"
"Akka" was all she could say
"Do u have a ride?" he asked
She shook her head, crying
"shhh I need you to stop crying right now" he ordered softly...
"Do u have a ride?" he repeated
"Ummm... no... I have my car"
"That doesnt matter" he said bluntly
"TUM kidhar ho?" she asked
"Near Faridabad" he said
"I am leaving..."
"Hang on I will call u right back" he promised
She took her stuff, told Bally's admin she had to take off and rushed out
She met Chachu waiting for the elevator at the PErk on 5th
"Betaajiii" he said LOULDY
she didnt notice at first... he immediately signalled for her to get out
"I am heading home" she said
"Do u know where Bhaisaab is?" he demanded
"Umm noo.. I work for KMPG" she said in frustration
"Thodi si tension hai" he said
"Oh" she muttered carelessly
People stared as he held the door open to yak, R&B called her twice, she didnt notice as she stuffed her phone in her purse😭
She quickly stepped out... "I have to go Chachaji"
"Aap bhi Samar ko lekar dukhi ho?" he asked
"Kyon... umm.. nahi... oh... no.. What happened to him, isnt he in Patna"
"Raman to aa gaye waapis, Samar had to take care of work, dont know what happened, woh mushkil mein hai" Chachu said bluntly
"Kya hua, gaadi ka kuch?" she asked
"Pata nahi dono bhaiyon mein kya baat hui, Samar ne woh kiya hoga jo Bhaisaab chahte hain, ab lagta hai woh Jha apni deal se muqar gaya aur usko threaten kar raha hai"
II didnt know who Jha was...
"Chaubey, aur Jain se kal baat ho chuki thi" he continued
"I dont know Chachaji" II fidgeted nervous
Preoccupied about Akka
"Raman to aa gaya ab hamar bacha phasa hai waha" Chachu spit out, to what seemed like to II... a bit harshly
"Oh... I dont know where Dad is he has been gone from 8" she said
" Abhi deal nahi karenge to bacha to lautega nahi" Chachu said "woh kisi ko chhodenge nahi" he added gratingly to isntil some terror in her
II's face paled in fear...
