I have a feeling her parents might be involved in it too. I obviously don't know but she can't keep doing it so firmly without some backing.

sorry. My bad.
was asking a question whether it has been revealed that her parents were involved or its speculation.

if they indeed pushed her into it and weren't there to support her, it must have been truly horrible
Hope she opens her eyes this time and tries to make an effort to come out of it instead of the past time when she continued despite getting a chance at change

Certainly what Shweta made was a choice and not a compulsion per se...but that is not the point here.

No one is glorifying her apparent 'shameful act'. Prostitution is illegal in India (which of course doesn't explain why it is so rampant throughout the country with places like Kamatipura and Sonagachi being so infamous and actual tourist attractions now!) and in that sense, yes, Shweta has done something that is against the law.

What is being objected is the victimization of one single person on National media, when she is clearly not the only one involved. And everyone has the right to their dignity and privacy. Just like Sakshi said, if criminals accused of rape are protected by the law and by the media, why single out a girl like Shweta? Only because she is a soft target and cannot do anything about it...her case grabs eyeballs and hence, the media makes a mockery out of her situation.

We are going to judge a 23 year old without knowing all her personal details but we will not even for a moment judge the businessmen who being fathers and grandfathers use the escorting services without ever having to face the scrutiny of the media or the public.

Where was it said that the businessmen were not guilty? Please point out a single post where it was suggested. And so what if she's 23? 23 isn't 16.

And are we discussing Sakshi Tanwar's views here? The one who was herself infamous in the Mumbai elite circles for her, erm, "pleasure network"?

We are writing pages and pages judging her - how many pages have we written judging the men using services of prostitutes?

Maturity is not age dependent. It is based on on one's life experiences as well as upbringing. Out of all the starlets prostituting themselves; she was the only one caught and that too, twice. And the one to have her name published in the media.

Sad, that even at the age of 23 she does not seem to have any older friends or relatives showing her the 'right' path.

That's doesn't mean anything.

Sakshi's involvement in the "pleasure network" doesn't take away her right to speak about an issue like this. Which in turn, makes her views worth discussing here.

Why the names and photographs of the businessmen not splashed all over, like the girl's? Why have those men been granted the right to privacy and not the girl? Is she a soft target just because she is an actor and a public figure? Why is our moral police quiet about this? In a country where even rapists and murderers are given the right to privacy, why has her right been violated? Why this irresponsible insensitive stand against her?
Yes we want answers.. Ythe names r confidential?
