Hey guys, back and this time I'm turning this into a drabble series..these are the first two

- Protectiveness
- Care (BONUS)

I was inspired by this quote "There was love to be felt, and discovered, still." Basically these are short stories portraying how mostly Rudra began seeing his Paro for who she is and how he fell in love with her. How long this series will be honestly depends on your encouragement so feedback and likes are essential, leave the imagination to me ;p Honestly, for all those who have always given their feedback and likes, thank you so much.. the bonus is for you! ðŸ˜‰
Happy reading!

Protectiveness :

Nothing but darkness, and darkness within darkness. Rudra came into their bedroom with a few candles since the electricity had gone out all of a sudden. The entire haveli was now lit with candles. Paro tried to hide her fear of the dark but it was no use, she couldn't see anything and when she couldn't, her own mind would make up images of her worst nightmares. It made her flinch, inch to hold her protector, her husband, her Rudra. Without much thought, she couldn't resist the uneasiness so she simply followed what the candles light had illuminated of her husbands figure and grabbed on to his forearm by the fabric of his white kurta. Her nails like daggers to his skin. He almost jumped at her unexpected grip but immediately understood their situation. It was her fears again. On the verge of consuming her, he let her hold on to him, but just until the electricity would come back again. And if it didn't, dawn was merely a few hours away.

Slowly, he placed his hands on hers, removing her sharp grip from his forearm, intertwining her tiny fingers with his and leading her to bed. Not much words were needed to ease her but he held her, allowing his warmth to take over. After all, actions are louder than words. And somehow, he could feel that fear, the fear that troubled her beautiful mind and unrested her big heart. He didn't like that feeling, Fear.

As he layed her down beside him, pulling her into his strong warm arms, facing him in her fetus position, protecting her from whatever there was to scare her. His hands tenderly stroking her back, assuring her, calming her until she fell asleep. And like that, the darkness of the night folded into a new dawn. Her eyes tightly shut, Rudra woke up to soft whimpers, his hands were unconsciously stroking her back all night. Rudra was still of movements, was he that protective of her, he thought to himself. It has been a few months since he had forcefully married her, what had begun in resentment came to bite him back in the a**. Unknowingly, he was developing unknown emotions for her. Like his protectiveness.

Care (BONUS) :

Eyes focused on the hot warm daal in his hands, he made his way to their bedroom, to his sick Paro. He had warned her several times to not play long under the rain, only to come inside soaking wet and soon with a fever. But like every time he had warned her, she had not listened.

Placing the daal on the bedside table, he sat next her on the bed, hands automatically pressed gently against her forehead, checking her temperature. She was still warm. With anger in his eyes, he could see the innocence in her eyes as she looked back at him, with regret and slight fear. She knew he was angry.. no no, this was not just anger, this was anger, concern and aggravation all in one. It would be good for her to silently follow orders

Waiting for her to speak, the room was filled with unspoken words and awkward silence. Knowing he would just shut her up, she decided to just remain quiet, besides the fever was taking up most of her energy and exhaustion had soon began to take over her weak body. He could sense the weariness in her eyes, it was good enough of an excuse for the both of them to just not converse. He was in no mood to listen to her on going blabberings whenever she tried to divert his angry thoughts. Grabbing the spoon, he filled it with daal. His hand frozen in the air waiting for her to open her mouth, avoiding his gaze she opened her mouth and gulped down the warm tasty daal. After a few spoons she was full, gesturing that she had had enough.

Making his way out and into their bedroom, this time he had brought in some cold water in a bowl and a small towel to place on her feverish forehead to reduce her temperature. He walked into see her in her child like sleeping position. So innocent and peaceful. The serenity in her closed eyes and even breathing. How her lips formed into some kind of pout. Without a feel, his lips drew a smile on his face. Yet, regardless of how peaceful she seemed, he knew she had been so exhausted and energy less that she must've passed out.

Dipping the dry towel into the cold bowl, he then placed it on her forehead. All the while studying her facial expressions as she slightly trembled. Rudra continued this until he could no longer keep up with the sleep he had been missing for some time. Sleep had always come easily to him whenever she was around. But because these past few days his work had consumed most of his time, he could hardly get a chance to breathe.

With the sun creeping in from the windows, kissing his closed eyelids, his hand traced Paro's side of the bed. Emptiness, cold and no Paro. His head jerked up, fully awake now, she wasn't there. Right before he could jump out of bed to run around the haveli like a headless chicken looking for his sick wife, the bathroom door creaked open. There she was. The heart that had sinked to his stomach out of fear, had finally returned to its rightful place. Taking a deep breath, he got up and immediately turning into the caring Jallad he was last night. With the same angry yet concerned look. Paro knew he was going to start an interrogation with her, going on about how she shouldn't be up if she's unwell blah blah blah. Therefore, she took the opportunity to explain then and there that she was feeling much better and perfectly in good shape to do some chores around the house. With no means to subjugate her integrity, his hand - as if it had a mind of its own - reached to her forehead, just making sure if she was alright. She was, but he told her to stay in bed for the day at least, and that she could resume to her daily chores tomorrow. Cajoling her that, because of her state last night, he had taken a few days off to take care of her.

Paro heard what was being said but could simply not comprehend a word. The jallad himself took days of his work for her? To look after her?

Once again you guys, how long this series will be honestly depends on your encouragement. Please give feedback and thank you! Hope you enjoyed.

Lovely writing! But what happened to that paradise getaway?
These chapters look like drabbles. Theres a long series of them... Five hundred words or less by someone called tattletale! Another take on your genre! I think hers was a parallel story arc, but your is on emotions! Superb!

Please continue and PM. God knows this forum needs more fiction writers!

Waiting for the next...
