Drashti Dhami, the gorgeous lady, popularly known as DD or Drashti Dhak Dhak Dhami by her fans (DDians) was born on 10th January. She is fondly called as Chinki by her family members. She belongs to a Conservative Gujarati family and stays with her Mother Vibhuti Dhami, brother Jaisheel Dhami and Sister In Law Suhasi Dhami. She did her degree sociology from Mithibhai College, Mumbai. To have her own pocket money she thought dance to her society kids and had aspire to become a fashion designer as a profession. But guess she was destined to be something else in her professional front. She entered Glamour World by doing Modelling assignments and later followed by endorsements with some renowned brands like Reliance , Chevrolet Spark , Kalyani Jewellery , VIP bags , Lion's Honey , RKS Grand , Big Bazaar , Pepsi , Chandani Brother's Sarees, Ponds ,Pulmoottil Silks ,Chennai's Silk Jewellery to name a few . Whilst Modelling and Ads she later went for an audition for a music video and was selected for the same, initially her family had refused but with her never give-up attitude she managed to convince them with the help of her cousin brother. Since then there was no looking back for this young ambitious girl. She debuted in the Music Video 'Saiyyan Dil Mein Aana Re' followed by several others like "Humko Aaj Kal Hai Remix" , Punjabi music video, 'Nachle Soniye Tu' ,'Teri Meri Nazar Ki Dori.'

She dint stopped here, her journey in Television World started in the end of 2009 by entering in the famous youth show Dill Mill Gayye in Star One as Muskaan Chadda, playing a bubbly, funny, ambitious and complete chatter-box character, Drashti surprised all with her acting talent. Her chemistry with her co-stars Karan Singh Grover and Mayank Anand was loved by one and all. After DMG, her fans waited for her come back and she dint disappoint anyone as soon she was back with another show on Star One name Geet Hui Sabse Parayi in 2011 were she played a protagonist for the first time playing the role of Geet Handa who was complete opposite to what Drashti is in her real life. But taking up the challenge n believing in the director n producer of the show she agreed doing it and dint made them regret their decision for once. She gave her 100% to the character and show and portrayed Geet's character to T and showed her amazing talent to the world. Her chemistry with actor Abhinav Shukla was appreciated but with Gurmeet Choudhary she created a history in Indian Television and this Jodi still manages to grab the eyes balls of not only of fans but media as well. The show was so popular that still her fans want to see her as Geet and are still waiting for Geet Hui Sabse Parayi to come back with a 2nd Season. After the show went off air in the end of 2012, Drashti promised her fans to come back with a bang and she again she dint disappoint her fans as after 6 months of long break, she came back to rule the television, but this time as Madhubala of the country. In mid 2013 she came back in Colors show Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon playing the protagonist name Madhubala fondly called as Madhu in the show, who was a simple girl with simple dreams with no aspiration to enter the glamorous film industry but was compelled to act and yet again Drashti proved all the audience why she was chosen for the role. With her superb acting and amazing chemistry with her co-star the show is still doing quite strong. Not only her character but also her awesome acting got Drashti huge fan following and soon the show became a hit among audience. Her chemistry with Vivian Dsena was again appreciated by one and all and soon she was given a title of Chemistry Queen' by her fans. Soon enough Drashti managed to become the Face Of Colors' and represented the channel which was yet another achievement added to her list. She, for the first time hosted Colors Golden Petal Awards with Manish Paul and showcased her talent of being quite a good host.

Another feather to her cap was the Trophy' of 6th instalment of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa in 2013, which was her first ever dance reality show, where she was paired with a handsome yet amazingly talented Choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan. Her hard work managing her fiction show and dance rehearsal side by side without any compromise, Drashti emerged not only as a prolific dancer but also a Multi-Faceted artist juggling all spheres of commitments with dexterity. However, she was rewarded to all her hard work by not only winning the title of Jhalak Queen' but winning it by the highest numbers of votes in the history of Jhalak by any stars in any instalments. Latest show to be added in list is Mission Sapne which is a Noble Cause initiated by the Channel Colors and is currently on air. Drashti Dhami was the only female star among all the Bollywood Stars helping the needy person by living her life for a days and earning quite a good numbers of penny by selling Nimbu-Mirchi of the roads of Mumbai.

Her list of achievement doesn't end here, Drashti Dhami was chosen as the Brand Ambassador for the Canvironment Week 2011 and 2012 initiated by Hindustan Tin Works Ltd. To support the cause of Save Our Planet' and a judge at CanCussion 2011 at SRCC She calls it a proud moment. The latest diamond to her crown is the spot in SexyList2013, to be more precise she is enlisted in Top 3 breaking the set traditions of only Bollywood Actresses making in Top 5, Drashti Dhami secured the 3rd Place as the Most Voted Television Personality for UK's Eastern Magazine by CEO Asjad Nazir, the conductor of the poll.

And now she is all set to get into in the skin of an Anchor, she for the first time is going to Host a full fledge dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa where she was the contestants and also winner of the show last year. And we, her fans wish her All The Best for her new project and rock the stage with her new talent as a Host.

Drashti Dhak Dhak Dhami , first got her popularity with Geet and then popularly known as Madhubala participated in Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa season 6 as this was the only reality show she wanted to be part of . She came in JDJ 6 with ONLY mantra In It To WIN It. Drashti was paired with the super talented choreographer Salman Yusuf Khan. Her nervousness in her first performance on "Ishq Wala Love" was cleared and also she was not confident but in fact shivering throughout the performance and even after that but today if we pick any performance after that she has just grew a long way. She showed immense confidence and her nervousness flew in the air and she showed the growth with every passing acts of hers. She then got her first 30 in the 4th week oh JDJ on song "Hum Rahe ya Na Rahe Kal Yaad Aayenge Yeh Pal" in Aerial Act and she was showered with all the praises for how her performance was FLAWLESS Drashti n Salman Not only left the judges AWESTRUCK with their performance but aslo the Guest Celeb Vidya Balan too. #TeamDrashtiSalman then kept getting all the Best of the BEST comments from the judges for their Outstanding performances. Drashti was not only praised for her Beauty, Acting, Expressions but also for her DANCING which is obviously the Main concept of Jhalak. The complete Non-Dancer Drashti was emerged into a Dancer is only because of her n Salman's Hard Work. This journey was never easy for Drashti, she had her own hurdles and ups and down, her main hurdle was time constraint to come this way as she used to shoot for her show Madhubala 9 to 9 and then used to rehearse only for 4 hours n used to perform her acts on JDJ and that is some achievement itself. We know its not a big deal for others but for her fans n Drashti it is, she was never sidelined from her show like other actors this season or past season got from their shows. We really imagine if she has that time to rehearse like other participants had she would have definitely given some more Awestruck performances but she held it and dint compromised with either of her projects and we really appreciate that. Salman did lots of hard work on her and she proved him as his BEST student and never disappointed him. Drashti was doing all great with her acts and was getting praises after praises but then came the time where her performances were criticized and called as incomplete and not up the jhalak standard which they themselves set was on a edge to even Quit the show. But but her choreographer Salman stood upto her and showed immense trust and faith and boasted her again and asked her to "Not give up on him as he will never give up on Her"

And then came the time she never looked back again and put in her 200% in every act and got some very AWESOME comments like "You were way better than kareena kapoor" for her Halkal jawani performance and "You DANCE like a Super Star" for her Humko Aajkal Hai act. The dancing diva Madhuri too couldnt resist but come on stage and shake a leg or two with Drashti on the song. Salman always made her dance on the styles she was uncomfortable in and she did justice to all the styles she performed and proved all wrong who said she cant dance. Drashti-Salman then never let the judges down and nor their fans n supporters. Drashti's chemistry with her choreographer Salman was always the "Talk of the Town" and got noticed by one and all.

This led to The Grand Finale where with & only with audiences votes the winner was to be decided ! Drashti Dhami & Popularity among masses esp "girls" go hand-in-hand ! well in this case the Entire INDIA voted for Drashti in Pride & She earned the largest amount of votes recorded ever in the History of Jhalak making her , the Winner of The Coveted Title of Jhalak Season 6 Trophy !

Drashti Dhami faced perhaps a magnanimous quota of appreciation & criticisms on grounds of Brilliance & Insane fan following ! but as they say actions speaks louder than words ! Its these "Insane" fans who came together ! who refused to step aside & Let go ! who stayed strong for The Most Outstanding Dancer , Performer & Gem of a Person Drashti Dhami making her Thus the Winner of Jhalak Season 6 ! In this season her strength her mentor Salman Yusuff Khan played an indispensable role without whom this dream wud have been not as fulfilling & accomplishing as it had been ! Salman & his team were Drashti's pillars of strength , will & determination . Drashti Dhami had a strong circle of friends who supported her like Sanaya, Karan Singh Grover, Nakul Mehta, Janki & others Lastly Drashti won the Title of Jhalak 6 trophy Primarily Because She DESERVED it !

Drashti started her new journey of being a host in 'Comedy Ka Jashn' where we just got a glimpse of her new talent with Krushna in 2012 where both Krushna & Drashti hosted a small segment before their performance. Then Again in 2012 Drashti got a chance to 'Golden Petal Awards' with Manish Paul. Since it was Drashti's 1st time as host she was nervous but Manish supported her well & everybody loved banter, leg pulling n their chemistry. As a 1st timer Drashti did Good in GPA 2012.

In 2013 Drashti Dhami hosted Colors TV's Holi event 'Rang De Colors' with Sumit Raghvan where we saw Drashti leading her team in Girls V/S Boys competition. During Jhalak Season 6 Drashti took over stage with Sana Sayeed for some time & pulled Manish & Kapils legs there. In 2013 Drashti shared stage with 'Comedy Ka King' Kapil Sharma for hosting a segment in GPA where She was confident & much at ease & that segment was much loved by audiences.

Now in 2014 Drashti is back in Jhalak again where she rocked and ruled and won last season with her choreographer partner Salman Yusuf Khan but this time she has taken a new Challenge ..she is back in a new role .. A role of 'A Sutradhar' where she will be Co-Hosting Jhalak Season 7 with Ranvir Shorey .. A new avatar of DD will be unfurled this year, as she takes this new responsibility of anchoring the show.. but be it Contesting to win, or anchoring the competition itself .. she sets fire to the stage by just being on it... So Lets wish Drashti Dhami 'Best Of Luck' for the new challenge & role.. Lets Begin one more memorable journey of Jhalak with Drashti .

Drashti Dhami was chosen to be the brand ambassador of Canvironment Week 2011 initiated by Hindustan Tin Works Ltd. to support the cause of "Save Our Planet" and judge at Cancussion 2011 at SRCC.

She is the only Female actor to have been a part of the initiative "Mission Sapne".

In the poll Conducted by Asjad Nazir, Entertainment Editor of UK based newspaper Eastern Eye, Drashti Dhami won this poll as the most voted Jodi in the #HottestIndianTVJodi Poll with Gurmeent Choudhary for their characters Maan and Geet. She was the only female actor to have featured twice in the Top10, by bagging fourth position with Vivian Dsena for their characters Madhubala and RK.

Drashti won Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa with her Choreo partner Salman Yusuff Khan with record number of votes by any star till date.

She acquired the 12th position and 3rd position (highest ever by any Television actor) in Sexy List 2012 n 2013 respectively in a poll conducted by Asjad Nazir, Entertainment Editor Of Eastern Eye.

Drashti Dhami was named one of the Youth Icon In IF Calender in year 2012.

She was in top 5 in Ormax list last year for JDJ season 6.

She was the only television celebrity to be placed in Top30 celebrities in the Verve Magazine 2013.
