There's not one part that is left untouched - by injury, conspiracy, accident, war action, what ever. There are other ways to elicit attention, empathy from a lover - it doesnt always have to be response to physical injury / pain.
Paro can be shown grieving about her dead parents, lost home or fearing Tejawat's return to hunt her down for Rudra to comfort her. Why blind her !?!?!?!?
