The next day of Diwali is new year of us , so we are currently in 2070 πŸ˜ƒ

In South India the new year that has begun is called the Jaya varsha. The year that went by was the Vijaya Varsha.

Does the -Bengali year,- for instance, have such a name? 

Vrish, Debi, Semanti...anyone?
