UPDATE: Tagore feels Parud too :-(

*******************
Was discussing poetry with someone today and chanced upon this gem by Tagore. I think the lines are apt for Rudra & his mom. Could suit Rudra & Paro tooif/when he drives her away. Thoughts?

Brink Of Eternity

In desperate hope I go and search for her
in all the corners of my room;
I find her not.

My house is small
and what once has gone from it can never be regained.

But infinite is thy mansion, my lord,
and seeking her I have to come to thy door.

I stand under the golden canopy of thine evening sky
and I lift my eager eyes to thy face.

I have come to the brink of eternity from which nothing can vanish
---no hope, no happiness, no vision of a face seen through tears.

Oh, dip my emptied life into that ocean,
plunge it into the deepest fullness.
Let me for once feel that lost sweet touch
in the allness of the universe.

Rabindranath Tagore

That poem is breathtaking!
One begins to see why he was a Nobel laureate!

Secondly, its a perfect match! Ties in beautifully with the episode, the silent narrative, the panditjis story.

You are one hell of a matchmaker! πŸ˜†

I posted a response earlier & looks like it didn't 'take'. The poem is indeed beautiful and apt in this case.

TQ for appreciating my match making talent ;-)

You Bengali by any chance, DC? Because if so, amazing catch--I love Rabindranath's poetry precisely because it has the uncanny ability to twist around us, and apply to that which moves us----and if not--baisa, you read Tagore! Disuss him, even and you are NOT Bengali, so you don't have to, you dont suffer from the automatic compulsions in the Bengali blood that forces the rest of us down his path! You ARE well read! Such a beautiful pick for Rudra and his mother..

That's the specialty of Tagore... There is no mood, no relation, no pain and no happiness exist in this human world that Tagore forgot to capture in his writings..
