Meenakshi Sagar to venture into the Marathi film industry
Ramanand Sagar's grand daughter and Moti Sagar's daughter Meenakshi Sagar is all set to produce her first Marathi film 'Mitwaa' with Swwapnil Joshi and Sonalee. The film will be directed by Swapna Waghmare-Joshi.
Speaking about the project, Meenakshi said, "There are some extremely intelligent people working in the Marathi film industry. I feel filmmakers here are more honest towards creativity than the Hindi films, which are more commercial. Post 'Duniyadari' a lot has changed and I was looking forward to do a Marathi film. Swwapnil was the lead actor of 'Duniyadari' and he is family to me. He has been associated with us since he did 'Uttar Ramayan' and 'Shree Krishna'. So I spoke to him and expressed my wish to produce a Marathi film. He told me about the developments of his film with Swapna Waghmare-Joshi. I loved the concept and was keen on producing it."
Meenakshi loves writing and she has written shows like 'Dharti Ka Veer Yoddha Prithviraj Chauhan', 'Akkad Bakkad Bambe Bo', 'Alladin', 'Dharam Veer', 'Meera' and many others. She has also written a few stories for the show 'Fear Files'.
