Part 1
Part 1
She hated him..correct that..she hates him. Hates him with
every single cell in her body. Hates him for the way he treats her,
hates him for the things he did to her. Hates him for marrying her - or
at least for the reason for marrying her. With all these hatred going on she
cannot fathom why her heart aches for him when he isn't there.
Rudra had gone to city for the trial. Paro has been left behind in the haveli to deal with the constact taunts and teasing of Kaki-sa. The day he left he hadn't even bothered to turn and say goodbye. This man had no heart, was a thought Paro frequently had and he reinforced it with his daily actions.
Their marriage was a sham. It was a trick played by Rudra to scare her enough to sign the confession - a plan that backfired on him. Paro wasn't ready to sacrifice her beliefs and agree to a story that she considered was a fabrication. So despite their differences they ended up getting married. She remembered the hatred that spewed from Rudra's eyes as the pandit chanted the mantra's at their wedding. It matched perfectly with the hatred that flowed from her eyes. Rudra was going to lose his job, he was going to be court marshaled. His pride, his joy, his ego - his badges were going to be ripped off of his shoulders the very next day. It should have given Paro a sense of satisfaction but Rudra's voice kept echoing in her mind - "what of the brave soldiers who lost their lives at the encounter on your wedding day? If I cannot prove it was a justified raid, these soldiers will be called idiots instead of martyrs." Those words haunted her. Then there were the tears that flowed from his eyes when he talked about himself - could a jallad like him actually have a heart or was it just another ploy to get her to confess to a lie? Paro didn't know what to feel and before she knew it the Pandit declared the marriage complete.
Paro was now officially Rudra's wife and for the rest of her life she would have to live through this hell whether she liked it or not - after all she chose to marry him.
