Malini Sharma - Dhoom Machao Dhoom (Disney Channel)Sriti
Jha's very first role on TV was in Dhoom Machao Dhoom (DMD) on Disney
Channel as Malini Sharma, one of 4 school girls who form their own
musical group called the Pink Band. Sriti played the shy and
superstitious, Malini, who is more comfortable singing Bhajans and who
goes against her strict father's wishes when she decides to join the
band as the keyboard player. Her cute chemistry with Vikrant Massey, as
Aamir, was much appreciated by fans of the show.
Sunaina Kotak - Jiya Jale (9X)
Sriti
really arrived on the scene with the lead role in Jiya Jale on 9X
channel. She played Sunaina Kotak, an ordinary girl-next-door, who goes
through the trials and tribulations of falling in love. She made a great
pair with Saurabh Pandey but Jiya Jale was the show in which her talent
started getting noticed.
Sudha Sharma / Devika - Jyoti (Imagine TV)
The
role that really brought out the true actor in Sriti, and brought her
recognition, was that of Sudha Sharma in Jyoti on Imagine TV. She played
the younger sister of the title character, who suffers from Multiple
Personality Disorder in the show. In spite of of her role being that of a
parallel lead, her brilliant performance as the timid and weak Sudha
and her bold and glamorous alter-ego, Devika, made her stand out from
the rest of the huge cast. Sudha/Devika's track paired with her
chemistry with Alok Narula was one of the most popular tracks of Jyoti.
It remains among her best performances so far.
Princess Suhani - Shaurya Aur Suhani (Star Plus)
At
the same time as Jyoti, Sriti signed on to play the role of Suhani in
the Fantasy Love Story Shaurya Aur Suhani (SAS) on Star Plus. She played
the proud and fiesty Princess Suhani who falls in love with Shaurya.
After Jiya Jale, she was again paired opposite Saurabh Pandey as
Shaurya. The pair was appreciated for their constantly bickering romance
and chemistry.
Sandhya Savratkar / Vrinda - Rakt Sambandh (Imagine TV)
Sriti's
next role was equally challenging as Sandhya in Rakt Sambandh on
Imagine TV. She played the role of a blind girl who finds herself
married into an aristocratic family with a dark secret, and on regaining
her eyesight, goes on to take revenge on them in the guise of Vrinda, a
tapori. Sriti handled the characters of the intuitive but helpless
Sandhya as well as the colourful and tomboyish Vrinda with equal flair.
Her chemistry with Dhruv Bhandari, who played her husband Yuvraj, and
Naman Shaw who played Neeraj were appreciated.
Jhanvi Dobriyal / Sia Raghavendra Pratap Singh - Dil Se Di Dua.Saubhagyawati Bhava? (Life OK)
Sriti's
most popular role to date is that of Jhanvi /Sia in Saubhagyawati Bhava
on channel Life OK. She played Jhanvi, a victim of domestic violence
who after bearing daily torture from her abusive husband and suffering a
miscarriage manages to escape, takes on the new identity of Sia, and
with the help of a mechanic brings about justice for herself and puts
her husband behind bars. Her chemistry with Harshad Chopra who plays
Raghav, her savior and love interest was extremely popular. They became
one of the best Jodi's of Indian television despite not getting much
romantic scenes.
Ganga - Balika Vadhu (Colors)
Sriti
entered the long running show Balika Vadhu in January, as a bold,
rustic, illiterate Rajasthani village girl and young mother to a one
year old who is a victim of child marriage and is badly ill-treated by
her in-laws and husband. She tries running away whereby her husband,
Ratan Singh, beats her almost to death and takes away her son. She is
saved by Dr. Jagdish Singh (Jagya) and is given refuge in his family's
mansion after which she is soon reunited with her son, Mannu. Jagya and
his family encourages Ganga to restart her education and become
independent by training to be a nurse. Her Jodi with Shashank Vyas who
plays Jagya also became popular.
