Breathing heavy she stopped by the tree in the drenching rain.
A soft hand came up to her waist n she turned immediately to be engulfed in his arms
She looked into his eyes her hands holding the distance between the two of them
"Say you love me" he prompted her to say
"Never" she retorted
A twinkle in his eyes he pushed her towards him closer by bringing his arms closer together
But she managed to keep the distance holding her hands ahead between the two
" your eyes speak something else" he said
" my eyes tend to lie " she said looking at him straight in the eyes
" but ur heart is not lying" he urged
" let me go my husband is waiting for me at home" she said

That pricked his heart
He still didn't ease on the grip
The rain still going on
"I am not letting u go unless u mention what is in ur heart" he said
" I have nothing in my heart n noone except my husband so please leave me" she urged

He looked at her steadfast she avoided looking at him

N then he released her
N in mock tone said " go ur husband must be waiting "

She started to leave when she sneezed
The rain had caught upto her

He came up to her n offered to drop her to her home
" u will catch a cold if u keep walking any further" he stated
"No thanks I will get a Rick"

She waited for a Rick one came n did not even stop
He mentioned that his offer was still open

She had no other option n had to reach home in time
Hence she obliged he brought the car n they sat n he drove

U r still a little but similar to how I had left u - he said hoping t strt a conversation

Things change over time - she said - but ones character doesn't
N looked at him
" do u mn to ask me something" he asked

" no" she replied curtly

He looked at her sideways she kept on looking ahead at the rain falling in the car

Steer silence followed that conversation
Neither of them wanted to dwell into the past

What is the past who are the couple
That's a trick for u to guess until my next update

U really are something , don't u know -she said after he had sent a dozen bouquets of red roses to her home

" what was I supposed to explain at home , it's good I caught the guy before he rang the bell n took the flowers from the back end"

" why are u so scared to acknowledge my presence in front of your family" he had asked

" I am not scared but I don't want to go wrong and can't afford a bad impression forming on them for you. " she had said

" ok forget it so whats the plan for today" he asked

" to dance in the rain with ice-cream in out hands"
She said teasing him

" hmm that's nice but that means I would have to create rain as it is not supposed to rain today n the cold is freezing but ice cream in rain it is if u want it" he smiled at her




The rain drops on the cars window had a different story to tell

Of distrust disbelief n everything else

The car stopped suddenly
She looked at him
He looked at her
" I am sorry about this let me take a look"
He stepped out of the car and pulled up the bonnet to take a look at the problem... A whoof of smoke came out

He peeked from the side the engine seems to have had an overkill
Give me a minute I will try to fix it"

After what seemed like 15 minutes he gave up... Called the mechanic and told him the address of where to pick up the car from n then he came up to her side

" I am sorry but I believe your house is not very far form here I could walk u upto that as my car is of no use"

Her phone rang precisely at that moment and she picked it up
" hello... Yes I am on my way home... No just got stuck in the weather ... I am tryin my best to reach home... Thanks"

She came out of the car
" wait" he said

N pulled out an umbrella for her

She took it reluctantly
He walked besides her drenching himself in the rain
She put a the umbrella unto him so that they both could be covered n thru managed to share a glance

She looked at his fingers slyly
No wedding bands yet

Thts y he was keen on meeting her... Expecting her to comeback to him... Did he want her to comeback or did he just come to check whether she was broken completely or not

" umm so how long have u Been married" he asked
She didn't answer immediately
Did she own him an answer
Should she answer
"6 months " she finally uttered

This confirmed his truth
She had married when he couldn't come up to the promise that he had made ... She didn't wait... Didn't think something could hv gone wrong ... She didn't wait ... A smile escaped his lips ...

They reached the house she handed him his umbrella thanked him for it n left noone noticed the lone tear that escaped her eye which got camouflaged in the rain dropsEdited by AR4eve - 10 years ago
