Is Ranbir 'really' a Star?

I know the media likes to tout his as this big star, but do u really think he is? I mean I personally don't see the fan frenzy that I see with lets say a Salman

It just seems like Ranbir's relevancy is media-made to me 😕 I could be wrong but who knows! Now the media is making Ranbir walk away with all the credit but to me it looks like more people went to ARK than Him 😆

Infact, youtube videos, facebook, even on this forum, seems like ARK was a big pull as well yet there is no real media acknowledgement of this.

I personally find him extremely overrated and very average.

Your thoughts?

RK is the most over hyped guy in Bollywood. His looks, his acting skills, his so called star power...literally everything about him is over hyped. He seriously ain't all that. 👎🏼

i think he does have a lot of fans but they might be a different demographic. i think salman fans are mostly men, ranbir seems to be the favourite of girls. obviously this doesnt apply to everyone, for example my dads hated salman since the beggining but he likes ranbir

As for the topic, well let's look at this way, which other newcomer in the past 10 years has delivered 2 back-to-back 100 crores (assuming YJHD will cross 100 crores) while the Khan's are at the very peak of their game?, can you think of anyone?... I can't.

Sure, he doesn't have the psychotic crazy fans that Salman has, but this Salmania is a relatively new phenomenon, a few years back he was going through a disastrous phase for years, even his staunchest fans couldn't save him from the pits.

So is he a star?, yeh you could say that. He did manage to achieve the 2nd highest non-holiday weekend collections, and came very close to breaking Salman's record, what does that say?

Who doesn't have? Ranbir being in Bollywood for 6 years, took so long time to give 100 cr back 2 back with 9th & 10th film in today's format where in 1 day u can chuck out 20-25 cr??

How About Sawaariya scoring high? Bah? Rocket Singh? Anjaana Anjaani? How come in 6 years he has just 4 films success out of 10 total films?

Salman's bad phase which u drag from past so many years, & will drag to next so many years, has never been that much bad that it could write him off totally. Real life court cases n controversies had affect on his career n personal life, so what, every celeb goes through up n down.

SRK now going throgh bad phase... Aamir before Lagaan... BIG B had bad phase... who hasn't??

The Day Any Ranbir film, any Ranbir film, will have this much Whistles n hooting in Cinema halls... i will believe a Star has come in competition to KHANS... until then he has Khan haters support 2 justify his stardom 😆

Just answer the question, which other "newcomer" in the last 10 years has managed to do what Ranbir has done? If Ranbir is not a star, then how did he come so close to breaking Salman's record?

And you answered your own question, Ranbir started off badly and is now doing well, Salman started of well, then went through a disastrous period and is now doing well... now you may argue that Salman was a superstar from the beginning, sure... but even that didn't save him from his flop phase, whilst Ranbir started off with a flop, but that didn't stop him from becoming successful, what really matter is the present and NOW.

3100 Screens, Post IPL 1st Big movie, Every Big/new movie flopping right left center before it...Superhit Music, RoofTop Promotions... HYPE, Media Backup...ex-lovers coming together, ARK's Aashiqui 2 success, Ranbir's Barfi Oscar going movie... lots of things...

If it is just coz of Ranbir, than it would have been WALL BASHING Seetiyaan for him on his entry or songs... well in Halls, Silently ppl watch this movie... that's not a star... a star with this much earning at BO should have whole HALL on its feet when he dances, dialogue delivery...

Yes, he is 2nd to Salman now with this 1 film's numbers, but he has to work way too hard 2 even come close to that Super Stardom which KHANS have.

It is more amusing as u picking up Ranbir only for YJHD Success, while without all this nonsense it has been proven as Immense Promotion brought audience to cinema Hall, while inside the Hall, they were just saying same old ranbir's film in new bottle (comparisons made to DDLJ, BAH, LAK).

Now u urself proved it by your sentence as he is not a STAR, just a face of a brilliant Marketing package which when placed at right time brought back just the profit 😆

STAR is that, when u come out of hall, u want to dance like him, do comedy like him, do romance like him... while this has almost MIXED CREDIT LIST = All 4 lead stars 😆
