R.I.P. Rituparno Ghosh A Great Director

Rituparno Ghosh was born and brought up in Kolkata. Both his parents were related to films, his father was a documentary film maker. He completed his schooling from South Point High School, and pursued economics from Jadavpur University,.Ritupo*no Ghosh was suffering from pancreatic diseases and he died following a massive heart attack in his Kolkata residence at around 7:30 am on 30 May, 2013. At that time of death he was 49 years old.

Rituparno started his career in advertising and his directional debut was Hirer Angti (The diamond ring). He won the National Film Award for Best Director for his Bengali film Abohoman starring Jishu Sengupta, Ananya Chatterjee, Dipankar Dey and Mamata Shankar. He made his first screen presence in an Oriya film Katha Deithilli Ma Ku which is directed by Himanshu Parija and released in 2003.

He hosted two celebrity chat shows, namely Ebong Ritupo*no on ETV Bangla and Ghosh and co. on Star Jalsha. He also was the scriptwriter of Gaaner Opare.

Still in shock.. cannot digest the news..
He was an institution in himself.. his thoughts, vision made pple think..
loved his movies .. unishe april, dosar, khela.. utsab ..
Loved  'gaaner opare'- the teleserial  on Tagore ..scripted by him..Sheer magic!

Will miss him.. he had  still so much to offer.. he wanted to work on a documentary on tagore and his women , work on mahabharata.. .
I will miss his personal columns in 'Robbar'..a bengali journal..
all his interviews, talk shows full of wisdom..
 I will miss him on his deep understanding of tagore.. 
i will miss him for my own interests...
