Uh, hello *hides behind couch, dying of nerves*
First thing - OMFG, thank you so much!!
Second thing - REALLY? That piece of amateur writing is on its 6th chapter, like you said, and hasn't been updated in - well, ages.
Nonetheless, OMG, thank you so much. Its definitely a very big honour to be considered even, for this. To have actually earned myself a position here is, well, flattering, haha.
I'm not half good a writer as many known ones here, many of which are my friends, but I do know that I try extremely hard to write what I do. It does come naturally, because writing is my first love, but I do still put a lot of hardwork into it. So it feels really great to be appreciated this way.
Coming to the questions - um.. okay, here goes nothing:
When/How did you come up with the concept for this story?
The concept of the story.. Hmm, to be really honest, I used to be a lot like Riddhima back in High School. Bullied and all. Not to that level of course, I was just bullied by my annoying friends, most of which I don't talk to anymore. But yeah, I'm my own inspiration here. Since its just the beginning, you can't tell much, but the concept is simple: the underdog is always the one who comes out shining when the world goes dark. Obviously, in my story, the underdog is Riddhima. But like I said, its just been 6 chapters, so the concept isn't exactly out there yet. Other than that - its a love story. I'm a romantic person myself, so I'm obviously going to fill it with some Armaan-Riddhima mush, haha!
What was your first story on IF?
My first story on IF was/is 'A Walk On The Beach', and no matter how crappy I find it now, its still my baby. Its basically a standard best-friends falling in love story, but its characterised and portrayed in my own stylistic way, and i would love it if people gave it a try!
What about writing do you like most?
That is a long list, and I could keep you guys reading all night, but to sum it all up - writing for me is just the best way to express myself. I realised my writing was my passion back in 7th grade, which is a good 5-6 years ago; obviously back then, it was limited to school essays, and those silly letters they used to make us write (ICSE anyone?!). So anyway, my English teacher had made me stand up in class and applauded my essay and that was the first time that had ever happened to me. So yeah, that was when I fell in love with words, because they were what made me heard in this obscenely huge crowd of people in this world. Its just the best way I can voice out my thoughts.
After that I started reading Shakespeare, Jane Austen, you know classics like those, and then I began reading poems, mainly by Robert Frost (he's a legend.), and I fell in love all over again!
What's one thing you dislike about writing on IF?
Um, mainly its just the fear about other people copying my work, because there are people like that in the world, and its happened to me once already, but that's with any public platform, haha. Other than that, nothing. Honestly, IF does get frustrating at times, times when I don't get a good response to what I write, but that's just how this works; sometimes you get a good response, sometimes you don't, all you can do is keep stepping up your game!
If there was something the DT could do to make the lives of writers easier, what would it be?
Only thing - allow us to PM more than 20 people at a time! Hahaha! But nah, nothing that comes to mind in particular :) you guys are doing a great job.
Who is your favourite writer on IF? Favourite story?
Favourite writers? Boy, this could take a while.. Um, there's Hannah (nondescript), Sanaa (Sanaa629), Aanya, and Neha (SurrealFantasy).. Why? THEY ARE MY FRIENDS. Lol, nah, jokes apart, we became friends because of me reading and pestering them to update their stories, LOL! So yeah, they write AMAZING stories, SO CHECK THEM OUT!! They write better than me..sometimes. LOL! Okay, no kidding, check them out, they are fantastic. Period.
Is there another story you might be writing soon? If so, do you have something to say about it?
Yeah, I have a couple of ideas, here and there... All I can say is, they are again going to be characterized on a personal level.. That's how i normally build my characters - from my own experience and life.. So yeah.. Its all vague clouds right now, but as soon as I know what I'm talking about, you guys will be the first to know :)
Do you have a message for your readers or IF members in general?
First off - thank you!
Second off - IF was one of the first platforms I tried to publish my writing, and hopefully one day, what I write here will be on bookstands, but until that day comes, IF remains to be my favourite trial-and-error-spot. I've made some great friends here, and they are my best critics. Also, I've learnt to appreciate criticism the hard way (I can say it all I want, but I hate being..not best..at my work. So yeah, haha. Thank you for all of this :) You guys are amazing!!
Third - THANKS DT! You guys are pure legends for choosing me, and you guys are doing an amazing job with this forum! Thank you so much xx
Lastly - my b'day is in 23 days, so this was a very good pre-b'day present! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love you guys xx
