MAITHILI(worried) : Tumhen jaate dekha nahi ja raha hai Abhayendra.Man bohat vichlit ho raha hai.Ajeeb sa bhay lag raha hai.

ABHAYENDRA(calm) :Bhay kaisa Maithili?...(maithili now faces him)
bhay kaisa Maithili? Kuch hi dino ki toh baat hai!

MAITHILI(desperate) : kuch din? Kuch din mein tumhare bina kaise rahoongi?...kaash ke tumhen jaana hi nahi hota!!

ABHAYENDRA : jaana toh hoga na maithili! Raaja ji ka hukm jo hai.Mujhe Kathiavadh se ghodon ki nayi nasal lani hai.

MAITHILI : Jo bhi ho! Tum yahan nahi hoge to mera man har pal sirf tumhare baare mein sochega;Agar tumhen kuch ho gaya to!

ABHAYENDRA : mujhe kya hoga Maithili? Mein jaldi hi laut aaunga.

MAITHILI : (takes his hand n keeps her ring in it) Ise apne paas rakho.

ABHAYENDRA(surprised) : yeh kya hai Maithili?

MAITHILI : Yeh tumhara khayal rakhegi;tumhen har burayi se bachayegi aur mere paas jaldi se le aayegi.

ABHAYENDRA : Mein ise nahi rakh sakta...yeh tumhaari hai.

MAITHILI : TUM BHI TOH MERE HO ABHAYENDRA...ise apne paas rakho,yeh tumhari hifazat karegi...

SCENE FADES...

PRESENT;RAICHAND MANSION;ABHAY's ROOM:

ABHAY SITTING ON HIS BED WITH D SAME RING WRAPPED IN A BLACK VELVET CLOTH IN HIS HANDS:

ABHAY: is angoothi ne mera khayal toh rakh liya maithil par tumhare paas nahi la saki...
