This chote ustad is from Ahmedabad, but says Bengaluru is her second home. Shuttling between the two cities has become a way of life for this 'ubharta sitara' of Sandalwood. Aishwarya Majmudar, is making her debut with Ravichandran starrer Crazy Loka. But she isn't the new face of the film. Aishwarya is the voice of the leading ladies in the movie.
The Amul Star Voice of India winner, Aishwarya has just finished recording three songs for the much-talked about project. "I have sung a solo and two duets," says the young singer. Though a newcomer, she has recorded with leading music directors of the industry. "I have recorded for (Crazy Loka), Ondu Rupayalli Eradu Preethi, Shiva and one album," says the youngster who is being compared to Shreya Ghoshal by industry seniors.
"I love being compared. I am sure Shreya Ghoshal was compared to Lataji, when she made her debut. Now I am being compared to Shreya. Eventually, she made her own identity and I am sure people will recognise me as Aishwarya and not as her," says the confident singer. With 500 live performances post winning the reality show, Aishwarya made her debut in Bollywood with Shaan for a song in the film Who's There?
Kaun Hain Wahan this year. It wasn't an impressive start in the Hindi film industry, so did she prefer coming down South to establish? "I have been coming to Bengaluru since I was a child. It is my second home now after Ahmedabad. Kannada films happened because of my interest to sing and not because I was looking for an opportunity," says Aishwarya who seems to be very comfortable with the language.
"I have no problem with singing in Kannada. In fact it has come easy to me. I observe the way people speak and try to pick up the dialect," says Aishwarya who is very excited about debuting with Crazy Loka. "I am waiting to see the song I have sung for Daisy. It is a peppy number," says Aishwarya who is quite open to the idea of singing raunchy songs. She says, "Singing raunchy numbers is very challenging. It doesn't come easy.
Recently I sung a Gujarati song similar to Chikni Chameli and it wasn't easy to get the emotions and drama." While the reality TV star tries to establish herself as a playback singer, she confesses that she has no favourites among the music directors. Aishwarya concludes, "I am a musician and would love to work with any music director, I am not particular about anyone."
