His
mind was screaming to stop whatever he was doing but all he could do
was to crush the person he was holding even more to himself, may be this
is the least what he was going to get from the "woman he loved". Was he
crossing his limits? Should he stop? He didn't want to answer these
questions...there were 5 other cadets, what were their thoughts? Raj
never bothered to know.
All of a sudden, a bullet from nowhere flew straight across and pierced his left hand. The sudden jolt was enough to bring Rajveer back to the world.
Couple of hours ago, he had been convicted and court martialled, for killing his senior commanding officer in cold blood if he ever dreamed of getting justice, he must' run. "Choo ke gayi hai...don't worry I am fine..." he said to a terrified Naina, who was still clutching onto Rajveer as a scared little child.
Naina; "Choo ke gayi hai m atlab? You are bleeding...you need first aid, we must hurry".
Naina was never a person who would get scared easily she believed herself to be strong enough to face any kind of precarious situation, yet she was afraid, scared and even nervous what if?? She had been too preoccupied in her own little selfish world not to realize the importance and worth of being in LOVE.
Love for Naina, had always been a feeling that's unprecedented and totally high and lofty and hence unattainable. She had often dreamed about her knight in shining armour in her teens just like any other normal girl, but fate was quick to shatter any girly, gooey ideas she nurtured in her heart. She had stopped believing in the four letter word 'until'..Why God? Why did you have to be so cruel?
Raj: " Waqt nahi hai...I need to run..I will be fine..trust me NAINA". Naina couldn't believe her own ears. Was he actually trying to say that he was leaving''going away deserting her? Suddenly she felt flustered and a certain sense of insecurity gripped her. Only words that kept reverberating was' "I need to run."
Naina: "How? Kahan jayenge aap? Is halaat mein?"
Raj: "Naina I am a certified soldier..aur tum abhi soldier ...bani hi nahi ho...They won't find me."
Naina: "I can't leave you like this? "
Raj: "Of course you can..you must..tum kya keh rahi ho...I don't have time Naina" Raj was more to leave because he knew the more he delayed the inevitable, the more he is going to harm himself. But'..certainly, he wasn't prepared for what was coming next and when it did, he didn't know how to react, whether to laugh or cry at his own already damned and doomed fate.
Naina: "I am coming with you." This small statement was enough to make raj lose all his cool. Raj always prided himself as a level headed man with an amazing control over his emotions. His six years long association with army had at least taught him that. BUT THIS??? He was not prepared for a situation where the person for whom he cared the most, wanted to be a part of his already shambled life!!!
Raj: "WHAT???? NO, YOU ARE NOT... Are you insane Naina? WHAT DO YOU EXACTLY THINK THAT YOU ARE DOING?"
Naina: "No body can persuade me from doing what I want to. Kya aap mujhe nahi jaante?"
Raj: "Naina, we don't have time for this. Go..."
Naina: "Is this an order?" Naina had steeled her voice because knew quite well convincing Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat to do anything against his own conviction involved a hardwork.
Naina: "Well aap mere senior officer nahi rahe so technically aap mujhe order nahi kar sakte, right?"
Raj was shocked at the frankness and strong defense of her as if...NO RAJ COULDN'T STOP NOW HE COULDN'T POSSIBLY TAKE NAINA WITH HIM, HOWEVER TEMPTING THAT IDEA MAY BE.
Raj: "Naina, think about your life, your career, yeh jaldbaazi hai" Raj tried to reason frantically with Naina. Why was she acting in such an adamant way...YEAH RIGHT!! SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS.
Naina: "May be, but yeh ek waqt hai jab mai kuch sahi karna chahti hoon aur aap mujhe nahi roke sakte."
Raj: "Of course main rok sakta hoon...Think about Navin, uska mission..." Raj wanted to desperately to come up with any idea that would possibly stop his favorite ex cadet from ruining everything she had at that very moment. Her life, friends, parents and even her career. His mission were not the exact reasons...he wasn't scared of Naina, nor was he scared of the terrorists who wanted to frame him but he was scared of only person and that was him...he was scared of himself, he was scared of his feelings which he knew Naina wasn't unaware of, there was a big chance of succumbing to his unchecked passion for his best friend's sister and he didn't want that to happen.
Naina: "Bhaiya agar yahan hote to woh bhi yehi chahte."
Raj: "Woh yahan nahi hai...Naina that is a fact, tum KMA mein jis liye aayi ho woh mission tum kaise bhool sakti ho?"
Naina: "Main kuch nahi bhooli, nahi bhaiya ko naahi apne mission ko, main apna waada zaroor nibhaungi, lekin aaj main apko akela nahi chod sakti."
[To hide from the raining bullets, Raj dragged Naina to a secluded place.]
Raj nudged Naina hard and said fiercely.
"YOU DON'T GET IT? DO YOU?"
"I Can't take you with me...samjho iss baat ko?"
Naina: "Kya samjhu, that u are scared?"
Raj froze.
"Scared?"
Naina: "Kyun? galat bol rahi hoon mai? You are scared, aap darr rahe hai kyunki aap..."
Raj:" KYUNKI MAIN? WHAT CADET SINGH?'
Naina: "Captain Salve was...was r----right...wasn't she?" Naina looked into Rajveer's eyes as she frantically searched for her answers in those black eyes.
Raj:"Kyun janna chahti ho Naina...? Capt. Salve was making up the whole thing...kya tum nahi jaanti?"
Naina: "Agar yeh sach hai to aapne kuch kaha kyun nahi?"
"You could have stopped her."
Raj: "I don't have time for this, I am going...Naina"
Naina: "aap jaante hai unhone aapse yeh sawaal kyun kiya?"
Raj stopped without turning to Naina.
Naina: "Kyunki, unhone yeh sawal mujhse bhi poocha tha."
Raj suddenly turned around to face Naina with his eyes blazing
Raj: "Kya matlab?"
Naina: "Unhone mujhse humare rishte ke baare mein baat ki. pooch rahi thi kya...kya main aapse..."
Raj: "Kya tum mujhse..??"
Naina:" Kya main aapse pyaar..."
Raj: "Karti ho?" Raj couldn't believe that he actually asked this question to Naina. He must have lost it finally. He, Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat''.who has been convicted and arrested for assassinating his senior officer'was actually having this talk'.when he has the golden opportunity to just run and save his own life???? He felt like world's certified idiot, yet he just couldn't go away without getting his answer. God knows'..just a mere 'yes' or 'no' could make or break his life.
Naina: "Kab se...mujhe to yaad bhi nahi..." Naina whispered as if she was scared of being reprimanded for her audacity.
Raj: "Naina...yeh sahi nahi hai." There was a tone of defeat in him, when he took Naina by her shoulders.
Naina: "Kya sahi nahi hai?" Naina's eyes were brimming with unshed tears.
Raj: "Yeh...jo bhi ho"
Naina: "Kyun sahi nahi hai? aapko kya haq banta hai decide karne ke liye ki kya sahi hai kya galat?"
Raj: "Don't you see Naina, aaj I have nothing, I can't give you what you deserve, aur main...I don't want to fail Navin this time...mai...mai...seh nahi paunga Naina.."
Naina: "Maine aapse pyaar aap civil servant ho, gorgeous ho drop dead handsome, ho...isiliye nahi kia..."
Rajveer smiled silently as Naina was coming up with all possible answers to justify her love...and Raj knew he needed no condition or justification, specially not from his Cadet Naina Ah Singh.
"To main tumhe handsome lagta hoon? Gorgeous bhi? Par tum mujhse pyaar is wajah se nahi karti?"
"Right?"
Naina :" Right."
Raj:"Tum janti ho tum pagal ho right?"
Naina:"Aapne pehle bhi kaha hai."
Raj: "Right, maine pehle bhi kaha hai...par pehle kya maine kabhi yeh kaha hai ki isi wajah se mai tumse pyaar bhi karta hoon?"
Raj pulled Naina towards him and hugged her.
"Be Good Naina...main wapas aaunga tumhe lene ke liye...tab tak ke liye wait for me."
Naina: "Iska matlab?"
Raj: "Nahi Naina...aaj mujhe jana hai...par mai waapas aaunga tumhare liye...intezaar karna..."
All Naina could do was to kiss the man standing in front of her and silently crying for the long seperation that she was to endure but deep down her heart she knew Raj waapas zaroor ayega...woh aapna waada nahi todta...
"I love you..."
Whispered Naina as she kissed those beautiful lips for one last time.
As Raj left Naina to get inside his car'..he could only hear "I Love You" as it kept on reverberating over and over again'..
