Wow, I'm so happy that we have such learned musicians on this forum. Not only that, they gave us such an insightful news that Anwesha will be the chosen one. We have Pandit A, B and even X or Y that spend so much of their valuable time in scrutinizing Anwesha's performances and even looking up renditions by the greatest Bade Ghulam Ali Sahab in order to compare her with him. Not only today, they have been doing it since CU days and whenever she comes on any show. That's how important she is!

I have only one thing to say. Thank you so much for your time. And you don't have to worry about being bitten by Anwesha fans. For most of them are busy on various fan clubs all over the place. So please feel free to continue having fun.

Well said bambooshoot πŸ‘. Before ppl bring up regionalism, winner n runnerup are from my place. Funny how some people state their opinions as obvious facts and give judgements and say they want to better her as if all the singers are reading them and knowing. I am out of this rubbish forum. Last and final post. Anwesha doesnt need these rubbish shows, she is way above these shows and a superstar for me⭐️. Final without her is a mockery at the first place.
Over and out

Thank u for u'r post Bambooshoot...u see, there will always be a bunch of Anwesha's detractors who will gloat whenever she's in the news for the wrong reasons...much as I respect the fact that they are entitled to their views...they don't cease to label Anwesha's fans as fanatics...not open to constructive criticism etc...where is this coming from...πŸ˜•...
We all have our favs...are fiercely protective of them... n precisely what is wrong with that anyway...when Anwesha was not quite in her elements on JJWS 2 earlier...some of us who appreciate her singing were the 1st ones to point that out...since we are aware of her true potential... she emerged out of that phase n was in tremendous form later...n her fans were overjoyed to see her bounce back which is expected... her hot streak followed n she gave phenomenal renditions in a row...that made us all happy...πŸ‘
But despite that, she was always low on votes...hence she didn't make it to the top 3......it is a dampner, yes but certainly not the end of the road for her...Nihira was one of the best we could boast of n yet never made it to the Champion side even once...when she clearly deserved to be there...but that doesn't mean that she has been consistent thruout either...I was disappointed at some of her recitals in this season...specially the Mast number to name a few...felt she didn't do justice...so what...it happens...if I state this, it doesn't make me any less of a loyalist n I have nothing to prove either...
A lot has been said bout Anwesha's perf in the classical round...she has been compared to the great maestros like u mentioned...but she did attempt a tough composition like that n gave it her best shot...which I thought was brilliant btw...πŸ‘πŸΌ while Akansha has been praised galore...Akansha did reasonably ok that day but then again she chose a song 'Baiyan na dharo' which can make waves with regards to controlled singing n that is her forte...am not undermining the fact that Akansha has improved by leaps n bounds but she sticks to her territory n plays it accordingly n that calls for something indeed...but that doesn't make her at par with the likes of Anwesha n we all know it.😳
Last but not the least...would like to add that the 'Melody Queen' Anwesha is not afraid to fail...she will do her best no matter what...she has just dropped a hundred charities & held onto the greener pastures...& we shall all revel at her feat sooner or later...so she couldn't be the Prom Queen but there is a big world out there n she will rule it one day!! 😊

Oh boy, this forum has certain individuals who are here with a different id but the style of attack since the days of Cu is quite obvious. Now I had no idea the same people still hold such strong grudges against her because she happens to have devoted fans. As far as my memory goes there have been numerous personal and nasty attacks on her and the judges/mentors, these same attackers pretend to be masters of music and come up with their helpful hints full of sarcasm. I like to challenge those who are basking in glory hearing the news of her failure again to produce one thread like theirs against any of the contestant in Cu or any other shows by Anwesha fans. I thought these sarcastic people came on this forum and agreed that it didn't matter who sang well and it was far from reality. So what happened now?
It always amazes me to see certain people come on this forum and say such hurtful things and pretend to be really a well wisher. I really hope and wish none of the singers would come from certain regions such as bengal and participate here. Not because they are not winning but the amount of personal attacks they go through is not worth the trouble. 😑

I started watching the show in the middle so I have no idea about various contraversies.

Every one of the performances I heard from Anwesha were great and she got better and better. But more importantly her last two performances were amazing. So based on the last week, she should be the top ranked performer.

Re; accent -- I am not a diction expert but I do hate it when Hindi speakers get very excited about criticizing non Hindi speakers for their diction. Bengalis are always criticized and if you are South Indian -- forget about it! South Indians are ridiculously maligned. You never hear Bengalis bitch about Lata and Asha singing Bengali songs (actually that's a lie we do -- but we still love them!). That pipsqueak Hemant HAD to make a snide comment about Sriram adding a South Indian touch to his songs. I am so glad that Swanand called him out.

Re: unfairness -- this is a public voting show and of course the public is not be trusted nor is the channel. These shows are not for winning. Rather these are shows to give good singing exposure. So that people will pay good money to see their live shows. So that music directors will hire them. So that they will get paid to host regional shows, etc... Look there is no unfair when there is public voting. Regionalism often plays a part but also let's face it, most of the public does not have enough musical education to know the difference between Akanksha and Anwehsa. So I know that my fellow Anwesha fans are very upset but really she is no even 20 and is already moving forward with some playback assignments, puja albums and probably multiple shows. She is the next Shreya if she concentrates on her career.

I am sure that Jayanta Sarkar is very upset that his two students were prematurely eliminated but as the musically astute know, he is a hell of a teacher as he has produced, Aneek, Anwesha and Niladri and countless others that I cannot remember at the moment. I am sure that parents continue to be on a waitlist to audition to be trained by him. Did you see how those two sat when they sang the classical songs? I mean Aneek is an incredible classical performer and I have no idea who in this forum or on that show could sing the Bade Ghulam Ali song that Anwesha sang.

I will miss Anwesha and Aneek and now let's hope Sriram is not voted third. My son is still rooting for Sriram! If Akansha wins AGAIN -- I will probably puke!

@mdroy - Great post! You may have missed the thread where the JJWS winner has been declared. The winner is Irfan. He is a great singer and we are all happy for him.

You know, after seeing the outcome of the last two shows that Anwesha participated, most of us had no hopes that she would win this one too. So I'm not upset. Being Anwesha's fan has taught us a lot. Her simplicity and humility that shows in small instances like her giving herself a 8 saying that she is never satisfied in her own singing. Or when she touches her ears in the middle of her Bade Ghulam Ali rendition with respect for the maestro. Her innocence when she jumps for joy when she sees a 10 from the judges are nothing but signs of a great artiste. To be a great artiste you need to be a great human being first.

We know that she wanted to win at least once. But so what if she didn't? We her fans know that she is brave and will be back soon to give us all the pleasure of her beautiful voice.

And that's why we all love Anwesha!
