Ram hands out gifts to everyone. There are small gifts even for Shipra,
Sudhi, Neha and everyone else. Finally there's only Priya left and Santa Claus
doesn't have any gift left.
Neha and Vikram and Sudhir try to force Priya to accept their gifts. Priya refuses; all are laughing. Everyone knows by now that Santa is actually Ram.
Neha: Accha Santa, apne biwi ko gift sabke samne dene mein sharmate ho !
Ram : Nahin, aisi koi baat nahinn hai…. Actually, I didn't know total kitne gifts chahiye….
Vikram : Ram, tu rehne de. Humme sab pata hai…
Everyone laughs and the party continues.
After some time, Priya is standing on the balcony, alone.
Ram sees her and ensuring that everyone is busy, goes and joins her. He just wants to apologise for not being able to give her a gift whereas Priya is standing on the balcony and thinking of Krishnaji's words.
Ram : Priya, sorry..woh gifts khatam ho gaye…
Priya : Mr. Kapoor, aap kyon pareshaan ho rahe hai… mujhe kisi se kuch nahin chahiye.
Ram : Tum rehne do. All women want gifts.
Priya : Aapko itne din mein bhi nahin laga ki mein doosri aurat o ki tarah nahin hoon….
Ram looks away.
Priya : Aur mujhe jo chahiye, woh sach ke santa de sakte hai, aap nahinn.
Ram is puzzled…. Kya chahiye tumhe?
Priya : Mera ek dost tha Australia mein. Woh kho gaya. Mujhe santa se kehna hai ki mujhe woh dost lauta do.
….. Bas, mujhe aur kuch nahin chahiye.
Ram, after some time : Kismat mein dosti likhi honi chahiye. Mere saath dosti karke kabhi kisi ko khushi nahin mil sakta. Vikram ko hi dekh lo. Bees saal purani dost par bhi maine chori ka inzaam laganese nahin ruka. ….
….Yeh Santa ka hi gift hai tumhare liye…ki tumhare zindagi mein aisa koi dost nahin raha.
Ram & Priya both have their hands on the railing. Suddenly, Ram sees tear drops fall on Ram's hands. Priya is looking down and he cannot see Priya's face.
Ram : Main sirf dukh de sakta hoon, mere aapno ko….
Both are quiet for some time.
Priya : Mere coaching class mein ek nayee teacher aayee hai, Krishuji. Unhone ek cheez bola…..jo ki mujhe lagta hai, ki sahii hai.
Ram : Kya?
Priya : Jab bhi hum koi cheez se pareshaan hote hai, toh hume ei sochna chahiye..ki yeh din bhi nikal jayega…aur uske saath is din ka pareshaani…
Ram interrupts : Priya, bahut saare aise pareshhani hoti hai joh ek din mein nahin khatam hote hai…woh zindagi bhar rehte hai….yeh sirf kahaniyaa mein hoti hai, ki agle din subah utho aur saare pareshaani gayeb…
Priya thodi der chup…. phir dheere se bolti hai : Aur unhone yeh bhi kaha..ki kisi ke zindagi mein agar koi ek insaan bhi hai jo use poore dil se chahta hai, pyar karta hai, toh usi pyar ke foundation pe use poore duniye se fight karne ka takat mil jaata hai, chahe woh koi bhi aur kitni bhi badi pareshaani kyon na ho….
Again both are quiet… Ram thinking about Priya's words and Priya thinking about Ram.. their moments together in Australia…when she ran to Ram after the monorail incident… when she held onto him during the seaplane ride…..when he gave her the ring in the garden…when he called so many doctors for her…. when she asked if she could hold his hand whilst sleeping…
Ram suddenly remembers the seaplane ride and their discussion thereafter… jab dono milke koi cheez karte hai, toh woh aasani se ho jaata hai… he starts to smile….then again Apeksha's image comes to his mind and Priya in the red sari holding out the bangles and asking him for an explanation…. and he turns and walks back to join the party..
Priya remains in the balcony…sad and pensive….
