TOI: I will marry on TV- Ratan

Rajput is set to get married on her swayamvar,Ratan Ka Rishta. So, will she actually tie the knot or will she do a Rakhi Sawant at the end of it all? TOI spoke to the actress, who is gearing up for her big moment... 

Why did you agree for a swayamvar? 
Har ladki ki iccha hoti hai ki uska swayamvar ho aur usse uska sapno ka rajkumar mil jaye. This is not my decision alone, I have my family's consent for this. 

What qualities are you looking for in your man? 
I want my husband to be loving and caring. He should understand the child in me and be able to understand every situation and deal with it in a mature manner. 

Why is it that none of the 16 prospective grooms are from your state or hometown? 
I did not select the grooms after seeing their states or where they belong to. I am not marrying the state but just the man. 

Do you feel with so many options, it might be difficult for you to choose? 
There is bound to be some confusion, but then hopefully the best man will emerge. 

In the first season Rakhi claimed to get married, but ended up with a broken engagement. What should we expect out of this show? 
I am going to marry the man I choose. Period. I understand the gravity of the institution of marriage. The decision has to be mutual. I am not making any claims here but what people need to know is that it won't be just any other day, there will be two families involved in this. 

Will you work even after marriage? 
I hope my partner allows me to because I really love doing this. It's my work that has brought me so far, I cannot go anywhere else. I think both of us will have to make adjustments, if need be. 

What is more important for you— surat or seerat? 
Surat poori zindagi nahi rehti par aapki seerat aapka saath nahi chodti. 

But just in case you do not find anyone suitable for yourself, then?
