Industry archrivals Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar have taken their battle to the next level. If sources are to be believed, Akki, who hosted the first two seasons of Fear Factor and is a strong contender for the fourth season, may have a competitor, Ajay Devgn.
Akki may not be aware that the broadcasters of Fear Factor are now in talks with Ajay for the show.
On the one hand our source from the television industry says, "Ajay has sent feelers to the broadcasters of Fear Factor that he wants to do that show." On the other, a source close to Ajay says, "The channel that airs Fear Factor has approached him."
Anyway, the battle lines are clearly drawn. Adds the source from the TV industry, "Ajay would love to do a show like Fear Factor. He loves action-oriented stuff."
But fans also revere Akki for being the martial arts hero of Bollywood. While most people are busy talking about the Shah Rukh Khan-Salman Khan rivalry, not many are aware of the one between Akki and Ajay.
Their professional relationship reportedly went sour during the filming of Khakee (2004), where Ajay felt that Akshay had tampered with the length of his role. Sure enough, post Khakee, Ajay and Akshay never worked together again.
That's not all. Last year, Akshay convinced Vipul Shah to release Action Replayy on the same day as Golmaal 3.
Added to this, Rumour has it that when Ajay heard that Emraan would be chasing girls in Madhur Bhandarkar's Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, he made an instant reference to 'Akshay Kumar pre marriage'. If sources are to be believed, Ajay suggested that Emraan's pet be named Abbi to rhyme with Akki.
Though Akshay, Ajay and the channel in question remained unavailable for comments, an insider reveals that Priyanka too is trying her best to beat Akshay and Ajay to the post. "But that is unlikely to happen. It's just a two-horse race now," says the source. |
