🥳🥳 It's a pleasure welcoming you all to the first ever
MYTHOLOGICAL MASTI BANNER CONTEST 🥳🥳

Contest Rules:-

The size of the banner must be 728px width * 90px height.

 You can Submit upto 5 Banners maximum. The banner(s) must be non-animated.

 The text on the banner shall be "Mythological Masti".

Please Do Not put your name/copyright on the banner, because the voting must be done anonymously. Once the winning banner is selected, the winner will be notified and then he/she can add their signature if they so choose.

Do Not promote your banner(s) via PM or posts in other forums, as doing so will result in disqualification.
 
 The banner must contain a mixture of paintings of Hindu deities and pictures from the following shows
(and you must use at least one image from each of the shows):
Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan
Ramanand Sagar's Shri Krishna
B.R. Chopra's Mahabharat
Dheeraj Kumar's Om Namah Shivay
Anand Sagar's Ramayan
Meenakshi Sagar's Jai Shri Krishna 

 The following characters MUST be represented in the banner: Ram, Krishna, Shiva, and Durga/Parvati. The banner may include any other recognizable mythological character of your choice, for example Ganesh, Sita, Hanuman, Lakshman, Radha, Rukmini, Arjun, Draupadi, Bhishma, etc.  may be included if you'd like, as long as all 6 above mentioned shows are represented.
 
Pictures can be found through the following links (each of which has a convenient table of contents on the first page, though if you still have trouble finding/choosing pictures that comply with the rules you may contact either JanakiRaghunath or Lola610):

  For the benefit of those who may not be familiar with all the mandatory serials, the post beneath this one will feature a selection of pictures from each of them for you to choose from.

Avoid repeating characters in the banner, even if they are pictures of different actors playing them in different shows (unless you are representing very different phases of the character's life, for example toddler Krishna and adult Krishna).
 Please PM your entries to mythomaniacs  so that they are all in one place and can easily be posted during the voting round.

 Deadline: April 29th, 2011 (Date will be extended if needed.)

Thanks for the thread! Will surely take part! Just one question. Can we repeat some characters if we are able to fit all of them that are needed in our banner? I mean, even in banners of one show, there are instances where characters are repeated. And here, we are all about the old and the new, so I would really like to show both. Because for Ramayan, there wasn't a lot of time spent on the childhood phase, so may I use Arun Govil and Gurmeet?

That's fine, Aishu, people's favorites in the mythos usually are the main characters anyhow, so to keep everyone satisfied and happy, repeating characters is not a bad idea....just be sure to show others as well as much as possible.😊
 
But you know, for the Arun/Gurmeet example, you can use pics of Arun as Ram and Gurmeet as Vishnu, so that both of them are represented as different characters....and for Deepika/Debina, one can show Deepika as Sita and Debina as Lakshmi or Vedavati, as Gurmeet and Debina essayed more than one character in AS Ramayan whereas Arun and Deepika mainly played Ram and Sita only.
 
Anyhow, it's up to you....there are not too many restraints in the rules so that people have the freedom to do what they want.

Yayyyyy, so glad you guys are participating! This is going to be so much fun

@ Swati - I know yaar, it's a long time to wait :/ But can't help it, a few members have pm'd me that they are interested in participating and voting but need the extra time due to being away on a holiday or attending some function or having some exams. No probs, that much more time for you to make more entries na :P

@ Aishu - If possible, we'd love for the banners to showcase a variety of different characters in different get-ups rather than seeing RadheShyam, SiyaRam, RadheShyam, SiyaRam, RadheShyam... you get what I'm saying 😆 But if you downsize the pics enough so that you manage to include other important characters and can still fit in a repeat or two of the leads, that would definitely be fine :)
