If Geet and Dadi had swapped places on the dining table the scene would not had worked because Maan would've grabbed Geet's right hand therefore it would not have been awkward for her to hold a spoon! Why?? Because DD is left handed!! Therefore her seating was cleverly executed so Maan could grab her left hand, it was funny watching her trying to eat with her right hand
which is usually normal for a majority of people as there are a lot more right handed people than left!
