It didn't take much on this Thursday's episode but to serve us a tray of hors d'oeuvres as a reminder that "variety is the spice of life. There was enough food on the trays to fulfill our palettes but in just a small way. The guests (viewers) overlooked the fact they were being served unpopular recipes πbut still took a few bites to satisfy their hunger.π€
Tangy:π₯± Sour words camaflouged as sweet ones rolled off Guruma's tongue as she continued to expostulate the virtues of being a good lion cub. She continued her emotional blackmail of Krishna reminding him it was his turn return the favor of his father's sacrifices and show his responsibility as son and not just as a man cub (pati). Krishna promised with his usual bravado that the entire Singh family will unanimously help him win the election and if needed they can force people to votes for him. The buzurg sher told Guruma that the sherni in the family and her family were hiding secrets. Krishna defended Prats and questioned why she and her family would go to court if they had secrets to hide. He argued that even if they hid secrets they will all be revealed at the trial. Suchchi baat tho hai. Lekin naadani sher hai, Baba! Guruma calls Krishna a smart sher but would like to see how useful this smart son would turn out to be. SS wanted Krishna to understand that the Niwas was his home and not Mumfordgunj. Guruma blessed Krishna to "be the cause of victory". Wonder how Krishna interpreted that.
Ready to attend the party:π² Across town Prats reminds Nainaji that she is tired of running away. She was determined to tell Krishna the truth about everything going forward. She voiced her concern that if he were to hear the secrets from someone else then it would be too late and there wouldn't be anything worth saying later on. Prats darling, isn't it too late already? It's not like Krishna was talking to her in a foreign language or something when he asked her again and again to tell him the whole story. Prats ready to face her fears, I guess she is now ready to chow down whatever is dished out to her.
Salty:π πKatra Naresh Babu Sakthi Singh leaning back on his royal cot in the big hall enjoyed a few moments of paer dabana before dinner time. The massage helped rush the blood to the wrong parts of his brains so he decided to play the bully he always was and poured extra salt on Baba's already raw wounds. KN teased Krishna being spineless and not speak up to his wife. KN bragged about his lioness Kesar taking good care of him and the reason being he gave her a regular dose of "prasad" and that being the way to enjoy a happy marriage. He taunted Baba that his sherni was off doing her own thing at the courthouse and maike and not taking good care of him and maybe he should do the household chores while she minded the baloo business. Baba was getting irritated at the constant put downs from his parents and brother about his beloved Prats. Krishna warned KN to back off, when just in the nick of time Prats walked into the house.
Pungent:πEvery time Amma came near Krishna with food inany form, be it a cup of chai or some mittai, she simultaneously filled his head with poisonous thoughts of Prats. Did she really have to remind Krishna she was the evil Queen by telling him she would always take care of him since he married a woman who didn't care about him. The sugar coated welcome gave way to the bitter pit in a hurry as Amma welcomed Prats back home with a smirky smile and taunted her about her father in jail with the gundas. Ouch!
Was she speaking about herself when she spoke about shaitanπ getting into the brain making someone capable of doing anything, esp. living with the gundas. What a classic example of projection. Her barbed compliments were not lost on every assembled member of the Singh family. Like joy from the heart of a foundation her bitterness rose as she continued to torture Prats with a vicious smile. Prats stood up to her sasuma today with a bold stare unlike the scared ones of the past few months. Way to go Prats, you've finally your tears for some spine.
Cocktails served:π To wash down the palette, cocktails were being served back at the green house in Mumfordgunj. Komal the young mistress of the house reminded the Sax family sans Prof. gathered at the dining table to be careful about their addiction for cocktailsπof the ganga-jamuna bahana variety. Unhappy at not being able to enjoy her finger foods with her favorite cocktails, Komal left the family still seated at the dining table and walked away while Nainaji continued to mix a fresh batch of g-j-b cocktails.
Spicy:π‘ After listening to the sasu-bahu notanki Krishna threw his cup of chai and stormed off to his bedroom cool off the steam caused by his mirchy temper. Prats tried to cool off the angry man-child by excitedly talking about her Papa's case. Tsk, tsk, tsk! Prats when will you ever learn not to talk excitedly to Krishna about the very things that ticks him off esp. when he is hungry? At least pay attention to his cues before you start off on the wrong foot with him. She tried to appease him by offering to make his favorite food. The hungry and angry young lion told her to stop her notankis and reminded her his mother and bhabhi had taken care of him long before she came into his life. Is this a premonition of days to come when Prats will not be in the house any longer and Krishna's Amma and bhabhi get another turn at taking care of him? Prats was disappointed he turned down her excited offer to make him a meal. Prats darling, your timing is all wrong. Krishna then vents that he for no fault of his is being played like the "ghar ka murghi"by her wanting to fight her father's case on one side and his father wanting to win an election on the other. Wah! Baba! Tum hi great ho! You never let logic abandon you even when you are breathing fire after all that mirch your family just served you. Prats, as always, when it comes to fessing up to Krishna your timing is all wrong, beta! Krishna told to take her important matters to her Papa, bhaiyya and lawyer and he wanted no part of it. Krishna, your timing is off this time for shuing her off before she told you the truth. Now there is a greater chance you could become "ghar ki murghi" served as entree on a silver platter at next week's dinner.
Bitter:π Amma continued her cynical and resentful comments to SS this time, making sure he lost sleep and listened to her patar=patar about her bahu's poor treatment of Baba. SS said son was unwilling to learn from his baap and bhayi and there was nothing he could do. Is this another premonition of Baba finally getting involved in family business earning his living while Prats and he are separated?
Sweet:π
Kesar noticing Prats was in a pareshaan mood served her a sweet smile with some
calm words. She reminded Prats that Baba could never stay angry at her for very
long, so give it a try and he will come around. She also told Prats that Baba
loved her very much and if all else failed there was always surefire sweet way
for a woman to make her pati happy. Unfortunately, Prats didn't want to try
from Kesar's special menu tonight. No harm done because Kesar always does it with
the best of intentions.
The hungry
and angry young lion: Feeling trapped like a caged animal with SS and Guruma on
one side about the election, Prats on the other with her father's trial, Amma
with her taunts about Prats being a lousy wife on the third and Sakthi poking
him with a pole on the other about being a wimp and not standing up to his
wife, it's no wonder he feels boxed in and ready to blow the roof of this house
in a hurry.
Preview:π³ With flashbacks of various incidents racing through his mind Baba decided on a course of action. He wanted to find a way out of being caught in a of a tug of war with his parents on one side and Prats on the other and tuned in to his own gut instincts that Prats was still hiding something from him. Krishna finally asked Prats to prove he mattered to her at all and consummate their marriage.π Prats panicked as expected at his touch and asked Krishna to let her go. Will Krishna wash his hands off this marriage and realize she never loved him. Will the public revelation of her secret blow this marriageπ€ into smithereens in the coming days? π²
Stay tuned! Sorry for the delay in catering Thursday tray of hors d'oeuvres.π€ πEnjoy your evening,ππ and keep the conversation going.ππΌ
