Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai is the
story of a middle class joint family living in the
heart of Mumbai's heartland, Shivaji Park.
Although the family is surrounded by the
glamour of a big city, their lives remain untouched by it as they work
towards fulfilling their simple needs and modest dreams. Trying to stay
afloat in a world where they've been left either to swim or sink, the
Kulkarni's are trying to make a living, staying together and holding on
to their only treasure, their morals and values. The Kulkarni's comprise of Ramakant
and Sulekha Kulkarni who are residing with their
children Shreekant, Nishikant and Akshata. Ramakant Kulkarni, the head
of the family is a cricket coach and trains aspiring cricketers in
Shivaji Park and his wife Sulekha works in a papad factory. The backbone
of the Kulkarni house lies in the beloved daughter in law Mugdha
Kulkarni who manages the house and needs of the family members
successfully and happily. The entire house depends on her and she draws
great pleasure in being there for them. The story focuses on how the
family's life changes as the younger son gets married and an eighth
member Pragya comes to live with the family in their tiny 1BHK flat. Mughdha,
our lead protagonist keeps the family together in all times of trouble
with a smile on her face and gives strength to the other members with
her grounded persona. Mughdha shares a unique bond with her mother in
law Sulekha, a sentiment hardly seen in times like this. This unique
relationship between the two is what keeps the family grounded and
going. Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai is the story of probably every middle
class family today and rings true in the travails of the family that are
portrayed in the show. Shoe boxed lives of the middle class who are
trying to grapple with a fast changing world, Thoda
Hai Thode ki zaroorat Hai, is a story that has roots in reality. Do meet
the Kulkarni family of Shivaji Park.
