this for the new members here as a recap of the story thus far.. (28th Sep, 2010)
Bindiya
Prasad is the female protagonist of the show who is the eldest
daughter
of the house and lives with her 2 sisters, Poonam & Reenu along
with a brother Raja with her parents. Then there is Mamaji who is
Bindiya's mama and was (or is?) a policeman. Theirs is a middle-class
family and their dad is a very honest and self-made man. Bindiya has
been shown to be as attractive or have a lot of wealth backing her so
fixing her marriage has been quite a task for her family. She has been
rejected plenty of times and although she is doing her Masters in Arts
and is a very cultured individual, nobody is willing to see past her
looks and the dowry issue.
Vinay Sinha is the male
protagonist of the show. He's a college student who loves exercising
control over fellow students because of his financial background. He is
the youngest of 3 brothers. The oldest one is Akhilesh married to PPW (Punpun Wali aka Shobha).
Akhilesh comes across as a tough and rough guy but has a heart of gold.
PPW is truly an evil character and is very materialistic though. Second
Brother is Bimlesh (or Vimlesh?) and he is a very honest and forthright
person; is a journalist and is always supporting the truth in all
matters. That's why he does not get along with his family much. He ends
up falling in love with Bindiya's younger sister Poonam and gets
married to her afterwards. Then there is Vinay's aunt (his dad's
sister) named Tillori Bua (or TB). She lives with them since her
husband, Uma, left her after marriage. Her daughter's name is "Rekha"
and she ends up getting married to Bindiya's brother, Raja. Vinay's dad
had practiced forced marriage in his family first by getting TB married
to Uma at gunpoint. He had kidnapped Uma and gotten him married this
way. So when the same happens with Vinay but the role is reversed, TB
is the only and the first supporter of Bindiya in the house due to what
has transpired with her earlier.
Then there is Vinay's uncle
(or chachaji) Nageshwar and his wife. Nageshwar has been in jail before
and is not
shown to be a good man but towards the end, his heart softens up for
Bindiya since Bindiya supports him when he is wrongfully accused of
kidnapping Vinay for ransom by Uma. It was Uma's plan to frame
Nageshwar and gain entry into the house to destroy the Sinha family for
what they did to him years ago. However, this plan is uncovered by
Bindiya later on with the support of Akhilesh and Bimlesh. Nageshwar
has an idle & wandering son named "Kunwar". He had bad intentions
for Bindiya and at one point, this irked Vinay as well (jealousy
perhaps?) 😉 ~ He was later thrown out of the house for throwing acid on Vinay's sister-in-law (i.e., Poonam aka Bindiya's second sister married to Bimlesh).
So
far, we have been shown that Vinay is kidnapped by Raja & Mamaji at
gunpoint and is forced to marry Bindiya. He rejects her obviously after
marriage and tortures her endlessly. Sometimes, by making her dance in
front of his friends to ridicule her or by forcing her to sleep in
cowshed or by using PPW to torture her even more. But at all times,
Bindiya has been a very patient and brave girl and has faced all odds
with great conviction and willpower. This is why she has been able to
win the hearts of almost all family members but Vinay. Vinay is
reminded of the torturous event that happened to him whenever he looks
at Bindiya. Meanwhile, PPW's younger sister Chottu has been brought
into the story where PPW is trying to set her up with Vinay and has
been brainwashing Vinay to get re-married. However, Vinay's been shown
to be a little annoyed at present with Chottu's antics. Chottu does
apparently have a boyfriend back in her town too but his character has
not been shown thus far.
Anyhow, so Vinay tries to get closer to Bindiya when he sees Chottu's
advances. Everyone in the family thinks that he has accepted Bindiya. He
even agrees to celebrate their 1 year wedding anniversary but
throughout all this, he is putting up a facade. Bindiya is confused with
his behavior and does not know that he's showing closeness to her
because he wants to drive Chottu away.
But on the wedding
anniversary day, Bindiya overhears all the conversation when Vinay tells
his friends about his facade. Her heart is shattered completely. She
still goes on to not say a word and take it as it is in order to not
spoil the happiness of both families. Meanwhile, Vinay's evil
sister-in-law, Punpunwali (PPW) knows about the truth too as Vinay tells
her about it (Vinay still confides in PPW a lot as an older sister).
However, both don't know that Bindiya knows this truth too.
PPW
then hatches a plan to destroy Bimlesh & Poonam's wedding
(remember: Poonam's Bindiya's younger sis & is married to Bimlesh =
love marriage). She goes through this kundali dosh saying that they have
to get unmarried or else Bimlesh's life is in danger. She plots and
schemes things along the lines and even though Bimlesh does not want to
undo his marriage, he has to forfeit defeat when Poonam insists. Then
the whole fiasco of reversing the marriage rituals happen (that was a
boring time indeed). Afterwards, Poonam is married to a tree and then
she's supposed to get married back to Bimlesh. Meanwhile, with Bindiya's
help, Vinay discloses the truth about PPW and how she hatched this
plan. He exposes her and in the midst of this, he truly starts to
respect and care for Bindiya as Bindiya always support the truth and
never utters a word at her grief. He starts understanding her and he
genuinely starts to care for her. But our heroin of course thinks all of
it to be a part of his facade.
PPW is thrown out; then she
comes back asking for forgiveness (but we all know she's evil so she's
back for revenge). Anyhow,
Bindiya + Vinay = VinDiya have really cute
moments in the mean time and all throughout, poor Bindiya is confused at
Vinay's actions while Vinay is trying to win her heart. He has not
fallen in love but he does want her in his life so its perhaps likeness?
PPW tries to tell Bindiya about facade but to her dismay, Bindiya tells
PPW that she knows about it all. And Vinay overhears the entire
conversation and he cringes and regrets how Bindiya supported him
through everything despite knowing the truth. He begs for her
forgiveness but she's not willing to forgive right away.
Meanwhile, PPW has
roped in her brother, Prafool, so as to detroy Bindiya's brother, Raja's life. He had
him involved in this illegal thing where he's about to be caught by
police and Vinay's trying to help him out. Raja runs away with his wife (who is Vinay's cousin, TB's daughter, Rekha ji) as per PPW's suggestion. They seek refuge in PPW's village on her assurance that the police will never reach to them there. Bindiya's parents come to stay with her at the Sinha house so as to avoid police's interference re: Raja's whereabouts.
Bindiya thanks Vinay for taking care of her parents. Vinay responds back by bringing gifts for her, such as bangles, etc. But PPW tries to put her spin on things here too. Anyhow, Vinay under the influence of PPW's tricks ties up with Poonam to do a sting operation against Pappu Singh (the goons who got Raja involved with them and later deserted him) so that Raja's innocence can be proven but to no avail. In the nick of the time, Bimlesh and company come to rescue Vinay and Poonam from the goons. Vinay gets some scrapes during it and Bindiya attends to him diligently, which goes on to show Vinay that Bindiya does love him a lot and his feelings for her start to transition from likeness to love.
There is another track where there's supposedly a gun-point marriage about to happen in Sinha's neighborhood. Bindiya gets to know about it from the bride herself who wants Bindiya to save her from it. Bindiya tries to reason with her parents but to no avail. The girl's parents then involve police stating that Bindiya's own marriage was based on gunpoint and groom-kidnapping. Vinay then enters the police station and refutes all allegations stating clearly that his marriage happened at his own accord. Bindiya is dumbstruck to see this change and support for her in Vinay and had only tears rolling down her cheek and doing all the talk there.
As soon as she reaches home, she thanks the lord first and Vinay watches her from the background. She returns to her room then and Vinay there tells her that things between her and him have changed now and he'd like to give their relationship a 2nd chance. Bindiya says nothing and the famous hug precap happens. The next episode shows how Bindiya hugs Vinay and realizes how great he's been to her. She still does not comprehend to the fact that Vinay is falling for her.
Cute scenes at the terrace while the light is gone, in the kitchen, breakfast in bed for Bindiya, etc all give rise to Vinay realizing his feelings for Bindiya as love. He finally records his feelings in a tape-recorder and although PPW tries her best to hide the tape, Bindiya eventually hears it all and is spellbound. Confession of love happens and this leads to their consummation of marriage eventually.
Then we see a few more VinDiya's romantic scenes. Eventually, Vinay
comes to know about Akhilesh's earlier plan of killing bindiya. Raja's
unborn child too dies because of PPW and her brother. After that, VinDiya
and BimPoo leave Sinha house. Vinay starts searching for work. He becomes a
salesman but his ego comes in his way... He gets into a fight and ends up leaving the job. After that, Bindiya decides to help him. She decides to participate in a dance
competition (which Bimlesh and Vinay had earlier advised her not to take part in...). Bindiya does it all for her love. In the
mean time, Vinay's father is approached to join politics. He agrees.
Raja also gets his name cleared by threatening Pappu Singh of exposing
him. He becomes a police officer by bribing the superiors.
Even after the refusal of Vinay, Bindiya decides to participate in
the competition. She has Poonam's support too as she needs the money so that Vinay can start off his own business. The dance competition's organizer is Pappu Singh. He comes to know that Vinay's dad (Sadeshwar Sinha or SS)
will be the chief guest there at the dance competition. So he hatches a plan to kill SS there and to further disgrace him by letting him watch his own daughter-in-law dance in front of a bad crowd of the city. Raja becomes suspicious of this and goes there to save him. But SS gets shot and is paralyzed. Eventually, both brothers along with their wives
return to their family house where Vinay gets angry over Bindiya for taking part
in competition.
Raja gets suspended on suspicion of having a role in the attack on SS. He decides to clear his name. He comes to know about the role of Nageshwar Chacha (SS's own brother)
in the attack. He goes to SS's house to expose him, but Nageshwar convinces everyone that Raja is the real culprit. Raja tries to run but is caught by the police. Akhilesh accompanies him in the police van to take him to the police station. However, Nageshwar further instigates Akhilesh there to the extent that Akhilesh ends up shooting Raja as he tries to run away. Raja falls down in the river and his body is never found. Bindiya witnesses
this entire incident. She tells it to Vinay and he tells Bindiya to keep quiet. During the last rites of Raja, his father (Sharda Prasad aka SP) starts saying that Raja is
still alive and Bindiya in shock and agitation tells everyone that she herself saw Akhilesh shooting Raja so he is not alive. Everyone is shocked to hear this. Upon this, Akhilesh confesses his crime too but to no avail. Rekha ji severs all ties with the Sinha family and decides to file a case against her cousin, Akhilesh for Raja's murder. She asks Bindiya to become a witness. Bindiya is pressured by Vinay to not say a word against Akhilesh as Vinay's dad tries to emotionally blackmail Vinay and stops him from siding with the truth. Bindiya stays quiet but eventually gets to know about Rekha ji's pregnancy and how she would like her child to die as she does not want him/her growing in a world of criminals. This really does a number on Bindiya and she decides to testify. She goes to the station where we see a new entry in the form of SP Arjun who is an honest police officer and is also shown to have known the Prasad family since childhood as a neighbor. Bindiya leaves Sinha house as the lines have been clearly drawn in between the Sinhas and the Prasads.
Bindiya loses the court case and is horribly humiliated by Vinay's
lawyer. Vinay refuses to accept their marriage. The lawyer argues in
such a way that since Bindiya was not accepted by Vinay and his family, Bindiya plotted all this to grab Vinay's property etc. Raja also ried to kill SS and was
shot in the police encounter but Bindiya tried to frame Akki saying
that he shot Raja dead ..... Bimlesh tries to support Bindiya but his
statement is not considered by the court .....
Bindiya
is angry at Vinay and vows not to return to Sinha house until he
accepts her as his wife in front of the whole society. Vinay wants to
get back Bindiya but he employs PPW to do the job and she is not happy
with it. So, she is trying every evil trick to create misunderstanding
b/w Vindiya and separate them.
Meanwhile Vinay
rescues a girl called Kanchan (new entry) who was getting forcibly married by her
brother to some abducted groom and brings her to his house. Vinay tells
the girls brother that he will search a groom for her and get her
married. The girls brother is kind of trapping Vinay I guess ..... Now
the girl has fallen for Vinay.
SP Arjun likes
Bindiya now. He is attacked by some goons and Bindiya takes care of him
and is aware of his feeling towards her and is annoyed.
Bindiya
rents out some part of her house to 3 girls (those girls are actually
of ill-repute who are planted by PPW to create problems for the
Prasad's) so that the rent will be a source of income for her family. These are apparently girls from a brothel and the news of this reaches the neighborhood where a crowd is further instigated to harm SP and the family. Bindiya is asked to wipe off her sindoor as she is not considered a legally married woman. She's given an ultimatum to either wipe off her sindoor or save her father's life by this crowd.. The story continues..
