Snippets: Dance India Dance

India Blooms News Service

Mumbai, Mar 10 (IBNS) A lot is happening on and off the sets of Zee TV's popular dance reality show 'Dance India Dance'. A sneak-peek

This Abba is quite a dancer!!!

Well, we had heard of hot Moms of Bollywood (Kajol, Malaika and many more) but here is a hot new dad of the film industry ' Boman Irani. Boman who was recently on the sets on Indian biggest dancing show, 'Lux Dance India Dance', floored everyone on the sets with his amazing dance moves. A very good dancer, Boman was super-excited to shake a leg with the Disco king ' Mithunda and the two did a waltz together.

Having worked with all the three mentors, Boman shared his interesting experiences with and added that Geeta would certainly remain his favorite choreographer given their long association together. He specified that his 'gore gore' act from 'Main Hoon Na', choreographed by Geeta has been the those most amazing dance performance of his career so far.

Obviously, we didn't expect Geeta to take this compliment with just a blush, she ran down to Boman and very romantically asked him for a dance. The audience and the judges were amazed at the way Boman effortlessly performed on 'quick step' (a couple dance form) with her. Geeta and Boman's chemistry sizzled thorough the episode as they referred to each other as girlfriend ' boyfriend and spoke in a pure Hyderabadi dialect. Needless to say the other two judges and Mithunda constantly pulled their leg.

The episode to be telecast on Saturday, had outstanding performances representing various Indian dance forms (Odissi, Manipuri, Mohiniattam, Kathak & Bharatnatyam, Bhangra, Kallaripayuth).

A tribute to Tendulkar

As the grand final of Zee TV's Lux Dance India Dance inches closer and the fear of elimination looms large, every finalist on the show is striving hard to ensure that there's a "wow" element in each of their performances. A heady mix of their unbridled energy, their unquestionable dancing talent and the creative genius of their masters has ensured that it's raining one stunning act after another on the show! If the buzz is anything to go by, the latest episode sees Master Remo paying a tribute to his favorite cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.

Remo ka Rangeela Punit is said to have performed an act which encapsulates Sachin's journey from the time he turned 17 till his most recent double century, replete with a running cricket-style commentary punctuating his act.

Talented Punit is said to have managed just one day of rehearsals for this stupendous act. Spellbound by the beautiful dance interpretation of a cricket journey, Master Mithun Da stood up and saluted Remo and Punit.
Flashes of 'Avatar''

AVATAR ACT

A heady mix of their unbridled energy, their unquestionable dancing talent and the creative genius of their masters has ensured that it's raining one stunning act after another on the show! If the buzz is anything to go by, the latest episode sees Master Terence Lewis's protgs Amar & Shakti bring alive the aliens from the film 'Avatar' with unbelievable accuracy, donning an exotic blue greasepaint.

But there's a twist here! Trust Terence Lewis's imagination to conjure a visual treat where the two 'Avatars' perform the ancient Indian martial art Kalaripayattu to the theme song of the film 'Blue'. Insiders who've managed a preview of this act can't stop raving about it!

Wow!! I cant wait!! Only Terence can do it well and achieve perfection, and so I am super excited about watching it!!

Kalaripayattu is martial arts dance form too, in Kerala - it's a performing art form. Every kalaripayattu opens with a traditional dance form for the martial arts... Different props (swords, spear, stick, mace, etc) are used as well as bare hands fight form is also there... Here's a video:

Tihs video is about the kalaripayattu performance - watch from 0:45 onwards...

I never had any doubts about Terence's creativity. I guess it's just time for other people to clear their uncertainties. Is there any limit to imagination anyway? That's why I love Terence, he makes me believe there isn't. Because truly, there isn't any anyway!
