But I don't really think a twist of the sort of 'Charlie running away with the money and Sweety' would have made for better stuff.....I think the fact that Charlie was shown to retain his humanity and some semblance of care for his brother on some level made it interesting....
Wasn't Charlie's kaminapan shown in the way he still hesitates and picks up that diamond from the Angolan guy's hand in the end??? So there were layers to this kaminapan...it wasn't one dimensionally all black or all white.
Guddu and Sweety were never meant to be kaminey in this movie to begin with.....
Good points about the pace of the movie and Vishal's style of direction though.
*Edit: And I get the sense that the reviewer deliberately wanted a darker film of the same variety as Omkara...but these are totally different sort of films to begin with...so why expect a "Langda Tyagi' from a 'Charlie' to begin with???😆.....The characters are totally different with totally different motivations! Charlie is a much younger and on some level, naive in his own way sort of character....Lagda Tyagi was not naive by any shot of imagination....and the one overpowering character trait of jealousy was responsible for all his actions. Charlie was never meant to be menacing!
