Dashrath, Father of Ram, Great among all kings, mighty enough to defeat the whole Dev-gan and win even the throne of Heaven but calm within. A great man ever born and fortunate enough to have sons like Ram, Lakshman, Bharat and shatrughan who are epitome of brotherly love and courage. Dashrath loved his sons more than his own life and suffers from their partition as a fish who suffers when brought out of water
The citizens of Ayodhya treated Dashrath as a father-figure. When there was happiness in the palace, then the citizens were happy. When Dashrath was sad, then the citizens were sad.
How did that happen? This is because Dashrath always kept in mind that his duty was to keep his people happy. Being the king of such a vast kingdom, he could enjoy his life by indulging in all sorts of pleasures. But he always kept his duty in mind. He never considered serving his people as a burden. Rather, he felt genuinely happy when he saw that his people were happy. He was sad when he found that somebody in his kingdom was not well - the way a parent feels sad when child is in trouble.

The son of dashrath,One emerged from Ikshvaku dynasty and known to people as Rama by his name, and he is conscientious, highly valorous, resplendent, steadfast and a controller of vice and vile... and his own senses, as well..He is an adept one, moralist, learned, propitious, and a destroyer of enemies. His arms are lengthy, and his neck is like a conch-shell, and cheekbones high..He is lion-chested, thick-shouldered, knee-length are his arms, and his is longbow, an enemy-subjugator, and his emperor's countenance is with a crowning-head with an ample forehead, and his pacing is lion-like...He is medium-sized physically, with limbs poised symmetrically, sinew-chested, wide-eyed, complexioned glossily... he is a prosperous personality with all the providential features, and thus he is self-resplendent..He is the knower of rectitude, bidden by the truth, also his concern is in the welfare of subjects, proficient in prudence, clean in his conduct, self-controlled and a diligent one, thus he is glorious..He equals the Omniscient, he is an exalted one for he is the sustainer of all worlds, and he eliminates enemies completely, thus he is a guardian of all living beings and he guards probity, in its entirety...He is the champion of his own self-righteousness and also champions for adherent's welfare in the same righteousness, and he is a scholar in the essence of Vedas and their ancillaries, too. He is an expert in dhanur Veda, the Art of Archery..He is the knower of the meaning and essence of all the scriptures, excellent at memory thus brilliant, and an esteemed one in all the worlds, gentle, level-headed and clear-headed in discriminating and distinguishing...Like an ocean that is reached by many rivers accessibly, that reverential one too is always accessible and reachable by clean-minded ones, and he treats all equally, and ever a feast to eye..He who betters the happiness of his mother Kausalya is an embodiment of all noble merits, and in profundity he is like an unfathomable ocean, and by fortitude he is unalterable like the kingly Himalayan mountain..In valor Rama is comparable with Vishnu, and in his looks he is attractive like full-moon, he equals the earth in his perseverance, but he is matchable with era-end-fire in his wrath... and in benevolence he is identical to Kubera, God of Wealth-Management, and in his candor he is like Dharma itself, the other God Probity on earth...

Brahmrishi Vishwamtra,
great-saint of great resplendence and son of Gadhi, who was a king and ruled for thousands of years and then became a saint, the great among greatest whom even Menica, the beautiful Apsara, was failed to seduce, went to dashrath to ask for their son Rama to be send with him in order to kill sinful demons and to protect their yagna. Dashrath, though reluctant to send his sons but know his duty as a king at the same time send his two sons who were like his two eyes with him.Having destroyed all mighty demons and given protection to the yagnas of Rishi, and after redemption of Ahilya, the two brother came to mithila to participate in swambar of sita.

There Ram saw sita in swamvar. Sri Ram was filled with rapture to behold sita's beauty ; he admired it in his heart but utterance failed him.He felt that if Creator had Put his hole creative skills in visible form and demonstrated it to the world at large. "She lends charm to charm itself", He said to himself "and look as if a flame of light is burning in a house of beauty". A beautiful sari adored her youthful frame, the mother of the universe was incomparable in her exquisite beauty. Ornament of all kinds had been beautifully set in their appropriate places, each limb having been decked by her companion with great care. When sita stepped in arena men and women were alike fascinated  by her charm. The gods gladly sounded their kettledrum, while celestial damsels rained down flowers in the midst of songs. In her lotus like hand sparkled the wreath of victory, as she cast a hurried glance at all the princes. While sita looked for Sri Ram with anxious heart, all the princes found themselves in a grip of infatuation. Presently sita discovered the two brothers by the side of Sage and her eyes greedily fell on then as on a long-lost treasure.
Out of natural bashfulness that she felt in the presence of elders and at the sight of vast assemblage, sita shrank unto herselfEmbarrassed and drawing the hero of raghu race into her heart she turned her eyes toward her companionsBlushing.

Then came one by one all the king and princes to check their might at the bow sacrifice. Dev, kinnar, asur, gandharva in disguise was also among the participators. they all tried their might but none of them even could displaced the great bow of shiv from its place.then came 10,000 kings together to lift the mighty bow but it baffled all attempt at moving it. Mean time sita was worried for rama as how could he who is embodiment of beauty and komal in appearance will lift this mighty bow which no one could have even displaced.
Then stood Rama, he found sita very agitated, every moment that passes hung on her as a hole-life time of the universe. Thinking thus withing himself the lord looked at janak daughter and thrilled all over to perceive her singular devotion. He inwardly made obeisance to his preceptor(vishwamitra), and took up the bow with great agility. The bow gleamed like a flash of lightning as he grasped it in his hand and then it appeared like a circle in the sky. No one knew when he took it in his hands, strung it and drew it tight, everyone only saw him standing (with the bow drawn). Instantly sri Ram broke the bow in halves, the awful crash resounded through all spheres. The horse of the sun-god strayed from their course, the elephant of the quarter trumpeted, the earth shook, the serpent king, the divine boar and the divine tortoise fringed about. God demons and sages put their hands on their ears, and all began anxiously to ponder the cause but when they learned that Sri Rama broke the bow they uttered shouts of victory.
There was crash of cymbal and tabors, conches and clarionets, drums and sweet sounding kettledrums, both large and small and many of other charming instruments also played.Everywhere young women sand auspicious strains. Satanand then gave his words and sita advanced towards Ram.

Accompanying by her fair and tallented companions who were singng festal songs, she paced like a cygnet, her limbs possesing infinite charm. In the midst of her companion sita was shown as personification of supream beauty among other embodiment of beauty. She held in her lotus hand the fair wreath of victory, resplended with the glory of trimph over the whole universe. While her body shrank with modesty, her heart was full of rapture, her hidden love could not be perceived by others. As she drove near and beholds Sri Ram beauty. Prince Sita stood motionless as a portrait. A clever companion , who percived her in this condition, exorted her saying "Invest the Bridegroom with the beautiful wreth of victory" At this she raised the wreath with both of her hands but was too overwelmed with emotion to garland him. In this act her pair of hand shown as pair of lotuses with their stalks were timidly investing the moon with the wreath of vctory. At this charming sight her companion broke into a song whle sita placed the wreath of victory round Sri Rams neckEmbarrassed. Witnessing the wreath of victory resting on Sri Ram's bosom, god rained down flowers.there were music both in city and heavens. Gods, kinners, men, nagas and the sages uttered blessings with the sounds of victory.Celestial dames dance and sang and handful of flowers showered again and again. The Pair Sri Ram and Sita was shown as f beauty and sentiments of love had met together in human form.
Her companion urged "Sita clasp your companion feet" but sita was too much afraid to touch his feet. Remembering fate of sage gautama's wife Ahilya, she would not touch his feet with her hand, the jewel of raghu race inwardly smiled to perceive her transcendental love. Then she finally touched his feetEmbarrassed
