9th June - 13th June 2008

Sheel Kumar, a Katra born businessman now based in Mumbai, visits Vaishno Devi Shrine with his family. He is here to thank mata for blessing him with a son. Vidyasagar (head priest of shrine) and his wife Shraddha along with the entire residents of Katra welcome him. As the prayers and the celebrations continue, Shraddha hears the cry of a wailing child. She rushes towards the source of sound along with Abdul, and finds an abandoned new born baby girl. As she doesn't have a child of her own, she decides to keep the baby girl and names her "Vaishnavi".
Shradhha decides to raise Vaishnavi as her own since she doesn't have a child of her own even after nine years of marriage. Vidyasagar refuses to accept an unidentified child in a Brahmin family. But on persistence of Shraddha, he allows her to be raised in his family. But, he never connects himself to Vaishnavi and maintains a fair distance always. The people of Katra slowly begin to realize that Vaishnavi is unique, different from all the other children of her age. While other kids prefer to play, Vaishnavi spends her time at the temple. It's celebration time for Vidyasagar and family when they get the news that Shradhha is pregnant.
Vidyasagar is excited when he hears the news of Shradhha being pregnant. Shradhha tells him that it's because of Vaishnavi's prayers that Mata has blessed them with a child. Vidyasagar's feelings for Vaishnavi slowly begin to mellow down. But before he is ready to accept her as his own daughter, Shraddha meets with an accident.
Vidyasagar is appointed as the president of the All India Mata Mandir Trust, but his happiness is only short lived. Shraddha does not survive the accident. Vidyasagar blames Vaishnavi for his wife's death and with the passage of time, his hatred for Vaishnavi multiplies.
After Shradhha's untimely death, Vidyasagar gives a cold shoulder to Vaishnavi, asking her not to interfere in his daily life. In order to fulfill her mother's last wish, Vaishnavi keeps a Mata Ki Chowki on the occasion of her little sister's birth. But the problems continue for Vaishnavi when Vidyasagar appoints Lata as the new house keeper.

16th June – 20th June 2008

At this small age, Vaishnavi had more problems than what she could handle. And to add to her woes, the new house keeper Lata, makes her life miserable. But complaining about anything was never there in the nature of Vaishnavi. Lata forces little Vaishnavi to do all the household works and keeps blaming her for mistakes. On the other side, Vidyasagar discourages her to spend time with her real child, although it was the only joy of her life. But seeing Vaishnavi's dilemma, Mata Rani herself comes to her rescue in the form of an old lady.
 
Vaishnavi begins to live her day to day life in her own little world, keeping a fair distance from Vidyasagar. Her only purpose of existence is to take care of her little sister and devoting herself in the honour of Mata. Abdul helps Vaishnavi in naming the baby Sunaakshi. The bond between the two sisters becomes stronger as they grow older.
 
It's testing time once again for Vaishnavi when Sunaakshi falls ill due to Lata's lack of concern. The doctor is unable to diagnose Sunaakshi's condition. Vidyasagar blames Vaishnavi for all the misfortunes that the family is facing. He asks her to stay away from his daughter, Sunaakshi. Her best friend Gulfam tries to defend her but to no avail. He also asks Vaishnavi to move into their home. But Vaishnavi resists thinking of Sunaakshi. She keeps offering prayers to Mata to save her sister. Seeing Vaishnavi's devotion towards Mata, Mata herself approaches Vaishnavi as a mysterious old lady and gives her an ointment which would help Sunaakshi to recover from her illness.

 23rd June – 27th June 2008

Years pass by but there's no change in Vidyasagar's feelings for Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi is now a grown up, beautiful and radiant girl full of spirits. She is truly Bhadarwah's daughter renowned for her learning of Mata, stories and singing songs in praise of Mata Rani. Madhav, the flutist, is enamoured of Vaishnavi's innate charm and goodness.
 
Sheelkumar, a Mumbai based business man and a friend of Vidyasagar, comes to visit the temple with his son Vansh. Sheelkumar proposes Vidyasagar an international research and boarding institute to propagate Mata's lessons. He suggests the Gurukul to be in Vaishnavi's name and she along with Sunaakshi and Vansh can run it.
 
Sheelkumar informs Vidyasagar that Thappar, their partner in the Gurukul project, will be meeting him with the proposed 'naksha'. Vidyasagar who is disappointed with the plans is surprised with the marriage proposal from Sheelkumar. The proposal is for Vaishnavi but Vidyasagar is under the impression that Sheelkumar is asking for Sunakshi to marry Vansh. But later on, when Vidyasagar comes to know about this, he tells Sheelkumar the truth about Vaishnavi. Finally they fix the marriage between Vansh and Sunakshi.
 
Sheelkumar informs his wife about Vansh's marriage and he is on his way with the shagun.

 30th June – 4th July 2008

Sunakshi was shocked to hear that her father has fixed her marriage with Vansh. 
Resentfully, she questions her father's motives. Vaishnavi scolds her for talking so disrespectfully to her father. Vaishnavi's happiness for Sunakshi makes Vidyasagar feel small. Vaishnavi learns her sister's secret, she was in love with someone else. 

Vaishnavi tells Vidyasagar about Sunakshi's secret. He insults Vaishnavi as a lying hypocrite. Sunakshi confronts her father to surprising results. But the Roka ceremony was scheduled for the day. Sunakshi was not at all ready to marry Vansh, she gets help from unexpected quarters to run away with the person she was loving. 
 
Vidyasagar and Vaishnavi search Sunakshi everywhere but they couldn't find her anywhere. Yet the marriage has not been cancelled. Finally Vaishnavi had to marry Vansh in place of Sunakshi.

After a lot of drama and confusion, the people of Bhadarwa bid a tearful farewell to Vaishanvi. Now a new place awaits Vaishnavi and she is nervous about the reception that awaits her at her husband's home. Many things were going in her mind, like, what does destiny has in store for her? Will Vansh's family greet her with open arms?

Her life with her new family began inauspiciously. But everyone is nice to her. Then what could be the reason for her sudden unease? Is Mata trying to tell her something? Somehow everything is not what it seems. Will it be a passing phase or the approach of something more sinister?

 7th July- 11th July 2008

Vidyasagar feels sorry for Vaishnavi and also punishes himself for his harsh behaviour towards Vaishnavi all her life.

At the Grihapravesh, Vaishanvi gets a welcome she was not expecting. Is it a message from her Matarani? Before she recovers, another shock awaits her when she finds out that Sheel Kumar has not disclosed her identity to his family.

Vaishnavi is shocked to hear her new family calling her by her sister's name. She does not know how to react. Vaishnavi knew there would be problems when the family comes to know about her true identity. Finally Vansh's mother comes to know that girl who is in her house is not the one her son was supposed to marry. Soon other members of the family start rummaging through the contents of Vaishnavi's suitcase to figure out who she really is. Vaishnavi is confused whether she has committed any grave sin and seeks solace from Mata. The news of the arrest of Sheelkumar's daughter-in-law creates frenzy within the media.

Sheelkumar's order to ask forgiveness from Vaishnavi shocks everyone, including Vaishnavi. The family was not ready to accept a stranger into their midst.

14th July- 18th July 2008

Vansh's obedience forces him to acknowledge Vaishnavi as his wife in public but he refuses to forgive or accept her as his real wife. Moksh encourages him and says that Vaishnavi is a gold-digger. Sanyukta's insecurities surface when Sheel Kumar gives over the responsibilities of the aarti to Vaishnavi.

But as the other family members wished, Vaishnavi couldn't perform the aarti successfully. This incident disturbs Vaishnavi deeply and she doesn't want her father to know about this. Vaishnavi feels weak and dizzy. Sheel Kumar suggests a solution to the media organizations that were caught in the backlash of the riots. Meanwhile, the entire family is discussing their displeasure with Vaishnavi coming into their home. Vansh and the other family members decide to talk about this to Sheel kumar.

After listening to what the family has to say, Sheelkumar proposes an agnipariksha for Vaishnavi, wherein she will have to conduct a Mata ki Chowki in the house. If she is successful, she will be accepted in the house. If not, they will decide how to deal with her.

Vaishnavi confesses to Vidyasagar that she broke Mata's idol and that Mata is angry with her. Vaishnavi is frightened that she cannot do the pooja, and Sanyukta and Priyamvada decide to increase her fears. Meanwhile, Sheelkumar puts his plan to exploit her in action. Will Vaishnavi's fears stop her from approaching Mata or will the Mata come down to help her most ardent devotee?

 21 July – 25 July 2008

Sheelkumar proposes an agnipariksha for Vaishnavi wherein she will have to join her father Vidyasagar in conducting Mata ki Chowki in the house. If she is successful, she remains in the house. If not, they will decide how to deal with her. Vaishnavi confesses to Vidyasagar that she broke Mata's idol and that Mata is angry with her. Vaishnavi is frightened that she cannot do the pooja, and moreover Sanyukta and Priyamvada decide to increase her fears.

Sheelkumar puts his plan to exploit her in action. He somehow manages to get Vaishnavi's signatures on the temple property papers. A series of events lead Vaishnavi to Mata. Mata gives her a direction but Vaishnavi alone will have to figure out what the clues mean. We also see the entry of another character in the story, Madura (Moksh's wife). Vaishnavi finds solace with the presence of Madura. But before things can get any better for Vaishnavi, she is blamed for risking Gauri's life (Yash's daughter).

Gauri collapses while playing with Vaishnavi. Vaishnavi later finds out that Gauri has a hole in her heart. She is blamed for being very careless with Gauri and risking her life. She is barred from meeting Gauri.

Vaishnavi manages to cure Gauri with the help of divine intervention but in this process falls sick herself. Sabhya takes all the responsibilities for Vidyasagar's arrival for the moorti sthaapna. But he gets the news that the kaarigar is unable to make the moorti.

28 July – 1 August 2008

The Kaarigar fails to make the Matarani's Moorti after his repeated attempt. Kaarigar gets frustrated and don't know the reason behind why he is unable to make the moorti. Finally he is left with no option but to give up making this particular moorti, and calls and informs Sabhya that the moorti will not be ready in time for sthaapna.

On hearing that the moorti won't be ready for the sthaapna, Sabhya gets worried about how to put this news across to Sheel Kumar. Mean while Vidyasagar was already on his way to attend the occasion of sthaapna. And Sheel Kumar had already made arrangements to receive Vidyasagar when he arrives for the sthaapna.

Amidst all the tension and confusion, Vidyasagar arrives at Sheel's house for the Sthaapna. The family members were successful to give a false impression that his daughter is married into a perfect family. Vidyasagar is very happy for Vaishnavi's good fortune.

Vaishnavi comes to Sabhya's rescue in order to get the moorti ready on time for sthaapna. On the day of the sthaapna, the preparations are in full swing. Will Matarani help Vaishnavi to successfully complete the sthaapna without any more hassles?
