Hiya all,
Here is a simple recipe for - kesar phirni! =]

     

 

KESAR PHIRNI  
 

IIngredients

  • * Milk 500 ml
    * Sugar 50 gms
    * Rice flour 75 gms
    * Saffron a few strands
    * Cardamom green, 8 nos
    * Pistachio 25 gms
    * Almonds 25 gms

Preparation:

* Boil the milk so that it reduces to half its quantity.
* Add the rice flour to this and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
* Add the sugar and cook for sometime so that the sugar dissolves.
* Dissolve the saffron in warm milk and add this to the above mixture.
* Pour the phirni in earthen bowls and garnish with pistachios and almonds.
* Allow it to cool and set in the refrigerator and serve cold.

 Try our version of this Punjabi favourite with toasted besan and ground almonds and you will change your mind forever. Delicious, nutritious and quick, this is a wonderful dessert to whip up when you have a lot on the go. 2 tablespoon (chickpea flour), also known as ladoo.
4 tablespoon ground almonds
3 cups 2 percent milk
1/4 tablespoon saffron.
6 tablespoon sugar
6 green cardamoms[hari elaichi] shelled and crushed
4 tablespoonslivered pistachios.
