Rukmini?! - Page 2

I'm bored with Rukmini. There's nothing new there. Nothing.

I never liked her !

Phew! Thank God you made this topic because frankly, I was close to making a similar one as well..

Idk, after the initial likeness for her character, now I can't seem to connect to her. Yeah, her fierceness and that spiceness is all good but and I appreciate it but NOW, I don't like her. Yes, I like VeeNi but that's 80% due to Ranveer. Being his fan, I always wanted a romantic storyline for him with someone who's positive because in that area my Man was always ignored. So despite not liking Rukmini, I can't not like VeeNi because my love for "Vee" totally overshadows the lack of connection that i have with "Ni".

I dunno what the CVs can or should do to make her more likeable but...in the whole ensemble of awesome characters which can shine on their own, Rukmini seems to lack it. I can't exactly pinpoint to it, maybe it's the actress. I mean, urgh! Look at me getting all frustrated cuz I can't find the right words but...she's nice but doesn't have that x-factor to her. Or maybe it's because I find small-town-to-big-city characters so bleh...

In other words, CVs creating a character like Rukmini when they've created 12 brilliant characters before, is a huge disappointment. Because for me she doesn't have that lasting effect. I'll like her for a few minutes then forget about her. I'm worried I'll end up being frustrated by her someday

thank you so much for this topic i thought i was the only i can be direct i dont like rukmini at all we have seen a lot of from the village characters and ive loved them too but rukimini is too preachy ithink
i mean look at avi and omi i freaking love them even avantika ,rukmini sticksout like a sore thumb.
i will be very disappointed if veeni is the end game

Shail I felt the same about Mini. First I was excited to see VeeNi because the way Rukhmini's character was described I thought it would provide me with an interesting character. However when she was introduced I felt no connection. I just didn't feel engrossed while watching her, though I really liked how she stood up for herself in a few scenes. But it wasn't enough.

I initially came to the conclusion that I didn't like her due to my bias towards Rahi but I said "No, that's not it. Because I like Panchi with the other too guys (well mostly Avi 😳😆)"
Then I realized just during Friday's epi that it was the character itself that was irking me.
From the precaps I thought that English being a problem for her would send out a good message and also bring an interesting track.

But I don't enjoy watching the track because I don't KNOW who RUKHMINI IS! We got to know barely anything about her and that is WHY I possibly don't seem to understand or empathize with her. Also for the character to develop it's necessary that you see their interactions with other people and that's why I think she needs to get out of the "Just Ranveer" Zone and go with the gang.

She is that one character that I am putting up with because she is supposed to be RV's love interest but other than that...I can't stand her. She just doesn't seem like she will fit into the Buddies gang and most likely will trail behind RV when with them. I honestly hope CVs do something about her because she is a HUGE disappointment after all the great characters that have been introduced.


In Season 2 I fell in love with all the characters but Mini feels like a chewing gum at the moment which I can't completely swallow.

Thank You for this topic! honestly, I am skippinv VeeNi scenes these days even though I love RV but their portion seems so monotonus and on the very same note always. TBP have given us characters which we can watch with any co-actor or even when alone but Rukmini..well, I did not hook with her on the first instance. Its more of sympathy track with RV tryin her to get out of cocoon and limiting even RV being knight in shining armor. The only scenes we get of RV is Rukmini chalisa..and with rest, everyone has so many things in their kitty.. maybe this is frustrating me more. I need to know Rukmini before liking her.

Honestly...i do love Rukmini. She's my second fav female character. I see this quiet maturity in her, despite her jumping to conclusions & whatnot. And VeeNi is love<3

But yes...I would like her interacting wity the others. The Omi-Mini scene I had quite liked!

To be honest, there are some points on which I agree with you completely and some on which I disagree.

Points I agree on:
Ruks needs to interact with other buddies. Her interaction being limited to RV is completely unrealistic. I would also like to see her interact with Kiya, Piddi, KD, Avantika, Avi and at times with Omi too.
By the way, just to point out she interacts with JJ too.
With Panchi. I really cant say because I am Just NOT comfortable with Panchi's character right now, to say the least.
Her character developement needs to be shown too.

Points I disagree on :
I think Ruks having a problem in english is fine and shown well , since she comes from a village. From what I understand this is shown to show she is strong in her views and firm with her decisions , rather than to gain sympathy. Basically I dont think its required to feel sympathetic towards her.

I try my best to like her i always tell myself she is nice n a good character but still it doesnt,I agree n m saying it that the main rason for not liking her is deffo VeeNi,cuz i just can't see any1 else with Ranveer but still i try to see her as a individual n like her cuz her character is quite intresting somewhere when Rukmini n JJ had a scene i was like ya I will want to see her as a individual but it seriously doesn't happen I just can't connectwith this character! Frankly whe S2 was abt to start I never thought i will accept new characters but just look at Omi Avi they have won my heart they are so awesome that I just love them even Avantika she isn't my fav character but her character is fun but that isn't happening with Rukmini!
