Well, a closed community narrows down the thinking process.

These women live together, shop together, party together and meet almost everyday . They seemingly have no world outside GD. Although occasionally Babita is shown having a few friends of her own but that doesn't make much difference in her life. Overall, its the GD women who influence each other.

For example, last time Jetha gifted Daya a gajra. That was a spontaneous action . It just happened and therefore its the best gift Jetha ever gave Daya. However, Anjali impressed by the gift wanted to have one her herself.

The situation is just the same this time. Impressed by Mehta's poem all the women want to have one for themselves. Can that ever happen should be the question. They placed all silly arguments. Why can't scientist write poems ? Isn't your wife your inspiration ? and so on. I have often wondered why their thinking process is so limited. As if they cannot think anything beyond what is available in GD.

Mehta was and is still a writer. He can write a thousand poems even today. Why uselessly harass your husbands for something which simply is not their forte ?

I think each person whether man or woman has their own way of expressing their love. You cannot make it limited to one thing only. One person may not write poems or sing songs or hang around his wife all the time and yet he might be the most romantic man on earth for his own wife. This is how the world runs. That's why I think the women of the society should loosen up a little. I never understood why would anyone think about organizing a separate katty party for the same people whom we meet every day and with whom we already celebrate all small or big festivals round the year.

Change is good after all.

But the gents have never wrote a poem. They go to work everyday. When will they get time to think and write even 2 lines of a poem?
Taarak's profession is writing poetry and articles so he will write 100 poems everyday because that's his job.How can the ladies expect their husbands to write poems for them when they have never such a thing in their life?
There's a phrase in hindi,"Jiska kaam ussi ko saje, aur kare toh buddhu baje."

This is what happens when there's no privacy and people share even minutest things with their neighbors. It's high time the ladies use their brain. They use their brains to teach a lesson to their respective husbands but forget to use it in other times.
They are behaving like small kids."Jetha bhai ne daya bhabhi ko gajra gift mein diya.Mujhe bhi koi gift do."
"Taarak bhai ne Anjali bhabhi ke liye kavita likhi.Hamare liye bhi koi kavita likho."
I think it's the time for gents to teach a lesson to the ladies. They should also tell the ladies to paint their portraits or make a song in their own words and sing them.Phir mazaa aayega seeing how the ladies will do them.

Nice post, Debby.
I would have thought that after so many years of marriage, with grown up kids, ladies of GD would understand their husbands better. They are not college going lovebirds or newly married. They would know their husband's nature. You can not force someone to be something which they are not and especially being romantic only in certain way.

I've always felt that these ladies follow herd mentality.
'Usne aisa kiya, main bhi karungi!' or 'Uska pati usko madat karta hai, mere pati ne bhi madat karni chahiye!'
They have no strong individual personality 😕

Thank you every one for replying.
I agree with Subha. Privacy is missing in GD. All the women need to know all about the othe household. Living like a family is appreciable but its not really a crime to maintain some privacy even in the real families.

Also Aarti, I agree these women are anything but mature

Sara, I agree they don't have individuality. That explains why all of them start clapping hands in the name of garba,

@ Dia, I agree most of the members tried some poetry here but no one was forced to do that. It was a fun post only. Besides, internet world is a complete different world. Most of us won't do that in person for sure.

Mehta knows poetry like his back hand. Apparently if he just picks some lines of some other poet and claim as his own I bet no one would care to know about it at least in GD. For others its really a big deal.

Thing is so what if mehta write anjali a poem? The other ladies will not get the same effect that Anjali felt reading or listening to it because mehta wasn't forced to do it as he had done it of his own free will and that's what he wanted to do to express himself but here they are forcing their husbands to do something that is not in their nature. For the other ladies it's all about showing off that my husband loves me so much. Everything is about showing off. They just seem to compare themselves to other couples and not realise they are unique in their own way and it's ok to be like that.

We know what the ladies are doing is wrong but in the end they'll only win.
All the gents will write a poem with great difficulty. Jetha's poem will be the best and he will win the competition.
In the end champak will praise the ladies for making the gents write poems for them.
