Dear Nalini,
Chapter 2 - Calls of Erebus - I cannot have enough of it - it is simply marvelous how you weave the title through the moods of all the characters, all the players in the chapter.

The darkness that is tempting Sahil to make a dangerous play for Swara - a woman who is and would always be out of his reach. He should be careful of crossing swords with Sanskaar, because all shades of black are not same - the colour of righteous wrath is a brilliant black that can far outshine and shame those tame cowardly dark greys that Sahil coats himself in. I am sure he will learn at great personal cost, which is what he deserves.

The echoes of darkness which still can be heard by Lakshya as he tries to make amends for his callous treatment of Ragini and her surprising comforting reply that the size of love does not matter, it is the mere presence of it that counts (her shade is that for the dusky hues, where one is close to breaking into light). And somehow, in this realisation helps Lakshya to come across a plausible clue(s). Which help in unearthing the hidden dark depths of Parineeta's involvement.

Finally, we have Swara seeking to find answers as she is unable to fall asleep, her mind battling the darkness within its confines as she strives towards the light, despite the one image that she wanted to cling to.

A very nice chapter and a lovely detailing of the emotional turmoil each of them is undergoing.

love,
Nyna

Res for Chapters 4 and 5, Nalini sweetheart. 🤗 Shall un res tomorrow or latest day after. In meantime, just a quick note to say that I loved both of them. So well structured, both in terms of the plot, as well as they very real and palpable emotional content. Very nicely done indeed.
Lots of Love

Thanks for the PM. The update as usual was beautiful especially the last scene. Swara floating through a romantic memory. Only if our CVs had a fraction of this sense we could have had a beautiful track. And MOM , she is so sweet, maybe her bahu is the only one whom she could boss around the house. Please update soon. Waiting for swaras reaction inside their room.
Love, veena.

Finally unres for prologue.

Dear Nalini,

Nyna 🤗

How do I start, the very description of the monsoons set the tone of the story - dark clouds, watery sunlight and damp coldness aware. A way the weather is so reflective of the moods of the protogonists.

Swara - her mind full of dark clouds as she desperately searches for those elusive answers. She realises and accepts a few truths (like those rays of sunlight that suddenly burst thorough the cover of the clouds) of Ragini being her sister and her mother married to Shekar "uncle" and her now newly discovered Dadi showering love on her. But her mind is still buffeted by the cold winds of doubts and suspicion, replaying the unforgettable memory of Sanskaar shooting at her.

A huge welcome to you.

Thankyou so much for this incredible view you perceived the story with. Yes, it starts on a melocholic monsoon day and much like the way their minds are it hopes for the sun to break through those heavy clouds and bring back the joys of life they are all missing. And swara though a person who loves rains she was getting slowly sick of it for the way if represented her inner troubles. Her only light now being Ragini and the new family. But yet not enough to fill the emptiness he unawarely carries with her.

On the other side, we have Sanskaar, drenched in sorrow as his beloved wife remembers him only to be her supposed murdered. Not much of sunshine either, as though they have some quite incriminating photos, he is aware that it is not so easy to convince Swara.

Ragini - is also buffeted by the very cold winds - between concern for Swara and pain at seeing her hatred and anger for Swara. As Sanskaar so rightly said, she is the only one who can force Swara to think, introspect and finally arrive at the truth.

Yes, Sanskaar is drenched in his own sorrows much different from swara's yet carrying with him a steely resolve to make things better for her, and thus for him. He had understood by some means that giving into pain so often only makes him weaker and stood up to resolve it through better ways. By being the strength she would need and laying out her paths through Ragini. Because no matter what he atleast partly realised that when once this is all done their would come a time swara could feel guilty and he couldn't wish such a burden on her. I drew this from sanskaar's dialogue on swara. " she won't give up. So I'll give her what she needs. But only as much as is needed" when she investigates about the MMS.

I'm glad you liked the prologue.

Nyna I can't say enough of this but you have made my day thrice by now. And I'm only reading and rereading through your wonderful comments and feeling at loss of words. I just can't thankyou enough for them. And I'm so glad you enjoyed the story line.

A great start - and I will comment on each chapter separately , please bear with me.

Will gladly wait Nyna. Take all the time you need. I always consider late replies a boon because they take you back through your own story in a special way.

lots of love,
Nyna

PS - loved the title pic - the fading from grey monotones to coloured ones.

😳Thankyou. I just couldn't stop my hands from making it. Glad you liked them.

Dear Nyna ,

Dear Nalini,

Dear Nyna 😊

First things first - just loved the title background - greys can also look good despite the tinge of melancholy and darkness that they indicate.

This one is right now my all time fav😊 and even I wondered the same about how shades of greys can be beautiful too.

The first shadow - of her first encounter with the Avenging Sanskaar (I literally love him in that scene - his battle with himself and the subseqeunt monologue). A faint figment of memory that makes it way to the fringes of her mind, so clear that she doubts it to be a dream, and the light that washes it away, his assurance that she destroyed that hooded monster. But he is not so sure, he needs her to remember him even if it means that she walks through the darkness again for him. But then he is partly right, she needs to remember for herself also. He could have slipped in the dark, but he is responsible for her to be able to see the stars and the beauty of the night. So it is right that he fights for her memories, their shared rememberances. The pain is fleeting and the memories worth it.

That was her first real encounter with him if I'm right and I thought that it could have had made a strong place in her mind, through pushed back into its deepest recess by time. And as she was already feeling haunted and betrayed she could have come up to remembering it even doubting its dreamy quality

But shadows though gone in physicality always come back. They stay with us. Just deeper down under our conscious minds in the silent subconscious layers of our minds. Just as they did stay in hers, they did in his too. But to him they bring with the uncertainities of his character. Could they have really gone and and what if they come back are the doubts now haunting him. If he could risk a step into his old ways how could he survive it . And how could she look at him through those relapsing memories and through his actions in the present.

But beyond all the reason love overpowers him. And he would rather have her decide it at the end than back off now. Especially when are is aware that there is a chance and deep down without being concious of it herself swara is also counting on him.

I'm glad again that you are liking the story as it is unfolding. You are just making my day better and better with these comments. Thanks so much for making time . But if you are going to do this you might as well deliver more sweet deals. Missing them already

love,
Nyna
