Misha, that's actually the only irritant where they seem to have flubbed up. :(

If Swara-Sanskaar had contract-marriage instead of fake-marriage, then it would have been more prudent in terms of majority-audience sensibilities.

Both 'contract-marriage' and 'fake-marriage', majority-audience seems to focus only on the word 'marriage'.

If the female-lead is a nice girl and not like a vamp, then she is expected to start gradually herself developing into the feelings and duties that would have been attached to her in real-marriage, and it is expected that the 'contract' or 'fake' marriage be transformed into genuine, with the girl married permanently to the guy she was living with.
(The only exception is if the previous pairing was more mass-acceptable, and majority-audience does not seem to have cared for or had any interest in any of the pairings previously attempted or hinted in the series, so that does not apply here.)

The nonsensical exit-plan Swara had was acceptable only because it didn't actually happen.
Otherwise, notable would have been not Swara's sacrifice but her thinking marriage is a joke and a tool - it would have been a great way to wreck her potential for mass-support.

Apparently, Lord Krishna is as always wiser than all.
Swara had an extremely foolish exit-plan, the success of which would have destroyed her image in majority-audience's perception, and the only way to protect her was ensuring her failure so that she would not go traipsing off from the house without any understanding of ramifications.
So Ragini got to be the catalyst, as a speedbreaker in Swara's naive hurtling towards the cliff-edge of majority-audience disapprobation.
