Chapter 7
"Hey Anokhi, can I talk to you??" Meenu, one of her classmates asked.
"Ya sure, tell me?" Anokhi asked.
"I was wondering if you want to join the tuition class from Shaurya Sir with me? I'm looking for at least 4 students to make the group! Since you live near my house I thought I'd ask you. It’s boards this year so I thought you might wanna join!" Meenu asked.
"Hmm you're right, boards to hain. Tell you what, let me talk to my mom and I will let you know tomorrow. Is that okay?"
"Yes, that's fine."
"By the way, will I have to come to your house for tuition?" Anokhi asked.
"Not necessary, we can first make a group and then decide whose house will everybody be comfortable coming to!! I drive so I can come anywhere." Meenu explained.
"Oh ok! So who else are you asking??"
"Well I was thinking about Niti and Jassi, since they live relatively nearby our house!"
"Hmm ok!"
While Meenu checked with Niti and Jassi, Anokhi went home and talked to her mother and she said, "If you think you need it, go ahead with it beta!"
"Thanks Mumma!'
In the evening Anokhi called Meenu and told her that she will join the tuition classes and Meenu told that Niti and Jassi also agreed! So now they just need to decide whose house they will want to take tuition at and then they can start!
"Where do you suggest?" Anokhi asked.
"I am ok anywhere...my house, your house or Jassi or Niti." Meenu replied.
"I am fine anywhere too! Let's ask Niti and Jassi tomorrow in school!"
"Ok! See you tomorrow then!"
Next day in school all four talked to each other and decided to take classes at Anokhi 's house as her house was in the middle from all four!
Meenu informed Shaurya Sir and he agreed to start the classes from the following week!
"So how many students are in your group and who?" Shaurya asked Meenu.
"Sir four! Me, Niti, Jassi and Anokhi!" Meenu informed.
"Anokhi? She wants to take tuition?" Shaurya surprisingly asked.
"Yes sir, I asked her and she agreed, in fact since her house is in a middle location between us four so we will be taking classes at her house only!!"
"Okay! I will check my schedule and tell you the time tomorrow!"
"Sure sir!" Then Meenu left.
Shaurya thinking 'Wow! I never thought she would take tuition from me, that too in her house. I don't really think she needs it but if she wants to then good for me! I will get to see her outside of school too thrice a week!' He smiled to himself.
Next day Shaurya called Meenu and Anokhi to tell them the time for tuition!
"Meenu the time will be the same like last year, 5:15pm! Your house is on the way to mine and as u know I start with students living near the school and make my way towards my home...yours will be the last class!!"
"Sure, 5:15 is fine! Which days?" Anokhi asked.
"Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday!"
"But there's no school on Saturday, so will you specially come for tuition?" Anokhi asked, confused.
Shaurya smiled "Yes it's okay! Monday, Wednesday, Friday is already booked for this time slot and after that it will be too late for me, I would prefer Saturday!"
"Oh okay!" Anokhi shrugged.
"So where is your house Anokhi? I know Meenu's house so give me directions from there!" Shaurya asked.
Anokhi tried explaining the location but both Meenu and Shaurya couldn't exactly get it!
"Let's decide a place you know and I will come and get you from there!" Anokhi suggested.
"Okay, sounds good!"
"Sure!"
Both Shaurya and Meenu replied respectively.
Shaurya and Meenu told a different location...the one Meenu said was closer to Anokhi 's house so they decided that first Anokhi will go meet Meenu and then they will both go in her car to the location Shaurya said!
Shaurya smiled while thinking 'She was concerned that I would have to make a special trip on saturday...so nice of her!! But what she doesn't know is that I did that on purpose. This way, I will get to see her one more day of the week!!'
Later Meenu and Anokhi told Niti and Jassi about the plan and all decided to meet at the location Meenu chose.
"Okay so you all meet me at 5, I will take you to my house and then Meenu and I can go get Shaurya sir! Sounds good?" Anokhi asked.
All agreed to the plan!!

Tuesday evening
As per the plan Anokhi met everyone at the chosen location and after leaving Niti and Jassi to her house she and Meenu went to get Shaurya !
They saw Shaurya sitting and waiting for them on his Scooter! They saw each other and he signalled them to go ahead and he will follow!
Soon they all reached Anokhi 's house! Anokhi 's house was on the second floor so she started climbing the stairs and Meenu and Shaurya followed!
They all went to the drawing room which was located on the right from the stairs and was separate from other rooms! All bedrooms were past the corridor which was straight from the stairs and there was a balcony in front of the drawing room with a wooden chair swing and stairs to go up in the corner!
(Hope you all are able to understand and picture the house.)
"Would you like to have some Coffee?" Anokhi asked Shaurya.
"Uhh sure! But can I have a glass of water first!"
"Yes, of course! And you all want something!" Anokhi asked others.
"No, we are fine!" They all said.
While Anokhi went inside to get water and coffee, everyone else settled in the room!
A/N I will try to explain the furniture arrangement in the room. I hope you all can picture it in your heads!!
Looking from entrance
In the middle of the room was a center table, on the right side of the table were two single seater sofas next to each other with a built in showcase above it on the wall with some old family pics and showpieces!
On the left side of the table was one big 3 seater sofa with a window above it covered with curtains, in front of the table towards the entrance was a 2 seater settee without back and behind the table was a single bed next to the wall with side table on each side!!
Meenu and Jassi sat on the settee, Niti in the corner of the 3 seater couch next to Jassi and Shaurya sat on a single seater couch near the bedside leaving the second couch empty next to Meenu.
Anokhi came back with water and offered it to Shaurya and saw where all were sitting and looked at Meenu, Jassi and Niti...and they all smiled at her which irked Anokhi as she understood none of them wanted to sit next to Shaurya and purposely left that place for her!
Anokhi just stood there thinking 'What? I have to sit next to him?? Maybe I can go and sit next to Niti. But it would look odd if I jumped over Niti to get there as there is an empty sofa easily accessible and still I am jumping!! Plus, I also won't be able to see whatever he writes in the notebook!! Ugghh Guess I have to sit next to him today!'
Shaurya noticed her standing there lost and thinking something...
So he asked "What happened?? Come sit let's start!"
Anokhi came out of her thoughts and tried to cover it up and said "Yes yes i was just thinking to go get your coffee but it's ok, Mumma can bring it once its ready!!" She quietly went and sat next to him!
While they were studying...Rama came with the coffee and greeted Shaurya as she offered him the coffee!
Shaurya took the coffee and thanked her!
Rama said to Anokhi, "I am going back to the shop."
"Ok Mumma! I will come later!"
Shaurya thought 'Anokhi's mother has a shop and she also goes there! Hmm I wonder what kind of shop it is?'
Without even realizing, he was paying attention to each and every small detail about Anokhi.
Rama wished Shaurya a nice Evening and left!
After the class finished Shaurya left and all the girls copied the material from Anokhi's notebook to theirs as Shaurya taught in Anokhi's notebook!

On the way back to his house Shaurya started thinking
'Today for the first time I saw her in something other than a school dress, she looked so different in her long skirt and top...kinda cute! She seems pretty close to her mom as well! This is a great way for me to know more about her.'
Then he questioned his own thoughts 'But why is it that I want to know more about her?? Why do I have the urge to know every single thing about her? Why am I interested in knowing her likes and dislikes? What is happening to me?? STOP IT Shaurya, STOP thinking about her, what's wrong with you??'
Next class
"What should I wear? Maybe I should wear trousers today or jeans?" Anokhi contemplated.
Unintentionally she was making an extra effort to get ready for his class and on the other hand Shaurya was also looking forward to going to her house!
They were both drawn to each other but didn't want to acknowledge it.
Things were going smoothly...they would see each other in school everyday and at Anokhi's house in the evening thrice a week! Everybody would sit in the same arrangement and both Shaurya Anokhi were enjoying sitting close to each other!!
Anokhi would always wait for him to come while she sat in the stairs looking out for him. She could see him coming from far from that location without herself getting seen by him!
She loved looking at him without him knowing!!
It had become her routine to first sit in the swing everyday and then when it's almost time for him to come she would go and sit in the stairs and wait for him!
Sometimes Meenu, Niti or Jassi would come early and then she would have to sit with them in the room and wait...she hated that but didn't have any other option!!
One day she was sitting in her swing swinging and singing a song and didn't realise that Shaurya had come a few minutes early and was standing in the stairs looking at her and listening to her sing and smiling!
'She sings so beautifully' he thought.
After a few seconds of just standing and listening he thought 'I should knock the door now, if someone saw me standing like this it wouldn't look nice!' So he finally knocked on the door!
Anokhi turned and saw him and stopped singing, she quickly went and opened the door feeling embarrassed.
"Uh, have a seat. I'll bring some water" she said in a hurry and ran away from there without giving him a chance to say anything.
'OMG, He came early and I was so busy in my own world that I didn't even realise when he came! Did he hear me singing? I really hope not.'
She came back and served him rosewater (as it's summer now and he doesn't drink coffee anymore)
Then she sat there quietly waiting for others to arrive!
Shaurya started conversing to fill the silence.
"I came a bit early today. Actually the class before yours got cancelled!" Shaurya answered her unasked question.
"Oh okay!" She replied to him and then added in her head 'That’s the reason.' Then she blurted another question confusingly "But then how come you are only a few minutes early?"
"Ya actually I went to a cyber cafe nearby to pass time, but it was sooo slow that I couldn't get anything done. I got bored so I left a little early." She is so inquisitive, Shaurya thought and smiled to himself.
"Ya the cyber cafes here are not as fast! You should have called me and I would have asked Meenu, Niti and Jassi to come early. You could have saved some time! Anyway if it happens again that your class gets cancelled, you can let us know and we can take an earlier class, I don't think any of us would mind!"
"Okay sure! Will remember it next time! Thanks!" Shaurya replied to her but thought to himself 'If I had called you, then how would I have gotten to hear your beautiful voice!'
Shaurya asked Anokhi "Do you have any questions you want to ask until they all come?"
"Uh...uh...no not really!!" Anokhi shrugged.
"Everything from the last class is clear? No questions?" He asked amazed!!
Anokhi nodded her head in a no!
"Ok! Great!"
Soon everybody arrived and the class started!!
After the class Anokhi thinking to herself, 'From now on I should keep in mind that he can come early too and next time he shouldn't find me singing...thank god he didn't say anything about it!!'
Shaurya driving and thinking 'Wow today I got to hear her sing and I think she really loves that swing, I have seen her on it so many times!! Every time I am 2-3 mins early I find her doing something different, sometimes she is sitting on the stairs looking out, other times she is in the swing enjoying and today singing!! Oh yeah, the other day she was trying to solve Niti's problem too...she is very helpful and so sweet to everyone!' He smiled lovingly.
In the next few months the exams were done and summer holidays were starting soon!
Shaurya asked the whole group "Are you all going somewhere for holidays or do you want to continue classes for this month and then we can take a break for the rest of the holidays and continue back when school starts?"
Anokhi replied with "I am here only this month...might go next month for a couple weeks! I can continue this month, if you all can."
Meenu, Jassi, Niti also agreed to continue for the rest of the month!
"Ok then I'll make my schedule and let you all know the timing during holidays in the next class!"
Then he continued "So I think we should start working on your projects. Each one of you has to submit a project made in C++ code for your final practicals and the marks will be given by the Viva teacher who comes from another school! I will be letting everyone know about it tomorrow so you all can think and choose your theme for the project during the holidays! Also, you all will have to choose a partner for your project and work in groups of two!!"
Hearing this, Meenu quickly jumped and asked "Can I be Anokhi's partner, please?"
Shaurya replied with "Sure, I don't have a problem with it, ask Anokhi!"
"Ya sure, no problem!" Came Anokhi’s reply.
Niti and Jassi also decided to become partners!!
"Great! Now you all think and come up with the themes for your projects and tell me in the next class!!" Shaurya instructed.
All four of them agreed.
In the next class Anokhi told Shaurya that she and Meenu had chosen the theme for their project.
"What is it?" Shaurya asked curiously.
"We will make a program in which you add your date of birth and you will get all the information about your zodiac sign, the qualities of that zodiac sign, likes, dislikes, etc. Do you think it's a good idea??" Anokhi explained her idea.
"Yes it will be very interesting...seems you have an interest in zodiac signs!" Shaurya smiled.
"Yes, I find it very fascinating! I always read about it and then try to match people's qualities to what I read! That's why I came up with this theme." Anokhi added further.
"Great!" Shaurya nodded and noted yet another detail about her in his mind.
Then Jassi and Niti also told their theme and soon everybody started discussing how to go about their projects.
Shaurya gave them tips to start their projects and in the next couple weeks they all worked on their projects.
"Okay so today is the last class before the holidays, if you have any questions you can ask and rest we will continue after the holidays." Shaurya announced.
The girls cleared whatever doubts and questions they had and soon the class was finished and Shaurya left.
Anokhi & Meenu's discussion
Meenu - "Hey Anokhi I think we should work on our project on our own after you come back from your grandma's house in a couple weeks."
Anokhi - "Ya, I think it's a good idea, after school starts again we will have less time so we should utilize the holidays and finish as much as we can."
Meenu - "Okay then, call me once you are back!"
Anokhi - "Done! Let's divide our work, you work on the coding part and I will collect the material on zodiac signs. How about that?"
Meenu - "Okay, sounds good."
Anokhi went to her grandma's house for 2 weeks and after coming back called Meenu over to work on their project!
"Hey how was your trip?" Meenu asked.
"It was great yaar, I had so much fun with my cousins!! What did you do all these days?" Anokhi asked in return.
"Nothing much yaar...I was in town only!"
"Oh okay! By the way, I have collected interesting material on all the zodiac signs, so we can add it to our program. What did you do??"
"Yaar I wrote a bit of the code but not sure if it will work and I'm stuck at this point here...maybe we should check with Sir first and then proceed."
"But for that we will have to wait two more weeks!" Anokhi replied disappointed. "How about we type all this data in the meantime and when we go back to school we can show it and get it checked!"
"Yes, let's do that." Meenu agreed.
A week later
After Anokhi was done adding the Zodiac Signs information to the coding, she felt irritated as the program wasn't working as it should. She was getting bored of just waiting around and felt impatient. 'It is so difficult to wait. I wanna finish it asap but I'm stuck at this part. What to do? What to do?' She contemplated her options, which weren't many.
'Should I call him and ask? No no it won't look good and he might not like it if I disturb him during holidays. But I am missing him. It's been so many days since we have met and I haven't even heard his voice in so long.' She thought longingly.
'Though I can hear it, if I call him! And I have this perfect excuse for a call too...so should I??' Her eyes twinkled as she thought about it.
